Burnout – What are the warning signs? | DW Documentary
Every year, hundreds of thousands of people worldwide suffer burnout. Hairdressers, businesspeople, teachers, students. Thousands of men and women of all ages, who experience a breakdown. Suddenly, they can no longer go on.
This mostly invisible and insidious illness often gnaws at those affected for a long time. Often, they report not knowing why they feel so bad. Diagnosis is difficult. How can you recognize the symptoms before it’s too late? What are the warning signs? What tools do we have to deal with it? And why does the WHO not recognize burnout as a disease?
In Europe and North America, measures are now being taken to prevent the onset of the disease and to measure its cost to society. In France, structures are being created for the care and reintegration of those affected. However, there still seems to be a long way to go before mental health in the workplace becomes a priority again in today’s world.

We were all forced into this system before we were old enough to understand it. By the time we realize what is happening, the trap is set by debt and rising cost of living.
How nice it must be to be so rich you can afford to be burnout.
A lot of people can't stop working or they and their families would starve.

Anyone heard of mandatory overtime ?! It’s normal nowadays. Capitalism is a growing cancer. “ I, a stranger and afraid, in a world I never made….. “
Age is also factor, Pushing parson in some corner of life because young parson thinking is difference than older.
This burnout is a human weakness of the western world. We in Asia are workaholics driven by a common goal of prosperity , that's why Asia progresses much faster than Europe or the Americas.
Who will stop this war? What benefit does anyone have from the Palestinians? Neither Muslims nor the Western world have any benefit, so why should they think about the people?
mine ended up with it being from uva lighting and sunlight it takes time to avoid the things you like to enjoy not worth the feeling afterwards
I have experienced similar symptoms recently. I told my boss about my health. Unfortunately they didn't belive me. They underestimated my circumstances. Then I wrote a letter simply stating to find a substitute. When I wrote that letter, I was simply very tired.
We live stupid lives to keep the capitalist/ consumerist machine running. Most people I know want to make enough money to have a farm/ garden/ peaceful life out in NATURE.
Enraged jealousy😊
Hello Europe, welcome to North America!
Pls think about replacing that AI voice-over responsible for translating that consultant firm boss; it's way too loud and feels uncanny
Touting the US medical system at this point might be a bit more than overly optimistic. All of these beneficial studies have come to a grinding halt under the new regime, but Europe is in a prime position to pick up and continue on as the leader center of medical and scientific research.
The body is not firewood, stop burning it.
excessive media is more damaging then work these days
Had been drinking zanax for 2 months,in order to sleep at night,my job is unbearable
Burnout, and on top of that, the politics in the workplace. The bullying. The harrassment. The belittling. There is 0 empathy withinn the workplace. Its a vicious cycle. 😢
That is me forcing to resign from Goldman Sachs after work 60-70 hours working hours per week. Or take PIP with increment target 3x and must be achieved within 1 month. Even finishing small task and read email are hardly
if you think, that the company for which you are burning out, will even remotely help you when something will go bad with your health… think twice.. It literally is not worth it. They don't care, actually almost nobody cares. It is you , you yourself that has to take care of yourself. You need to watch for your own well being.
To anyone who’s listening, get tested for a pituitary tumour. That explained my 12 year fatigue and burnout off the back of my PhD. All the doctors missed it and finally an MRI of the brain confirmed it. Get all your hormones checked too. It could save your life
