Following the partial decriminalization of marijuana in Germany on April 1st, cannabis clubs are now set to open in the country. This new legislation allows individuals over the age of 18 to possess up to 25g of cannabis in public, as well as grow up to three plants per household.
For those who are looking to simply purchase the drug, growers associations or “social clubs” can now be established with up to 500 members as of July 1st. Members must be over 18 and reside in Germany, and the clubs can cultivate and distribute the drug on a strictly not-for-profit basis.
This move marks a significant step forward in cannabis regulation in Germany, offering individuals the opportunity to access and enjoy the drug in a regulated and controlled environment. For more news and updates on this topic, be sure to subscribe to the BBC News channel.
