As the BRICS group – Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa – convene for a high-profile summit in Russia, the spotlight is on how this alliance could potentially challenge the Western-led world order. Russian President Vladimir Putin, hosting the summit, is keen on demonstrating that Moscow is not isolated despite Western attempts to do so.
The question that arises is whether BRICS is merely a coalition for airing anti-Western grievances, or if it serves as a platform for genuine cooperation among its member nations. Could this expanding bloc emerge as a significant geopolitical rival to the United States and its allies?
The BRICS alliance brings together emerging economies with significant global influence. With a combined population of over 3 billion people and a GDP exceeding $16 trillion, the group wields considerable economic power. However, their unity goes beyond just economics. These nations share similar views on various global issues and have often collaborated on political matters as well.
The summit presents an opportunity for these nations to discuss ways in which they can strengthen their cooperation and mutual interests. While some may view BRICS as a challenge to the Western-dominated world order, others see it as a potential force for positive change on the global stage.
As the world continues to grapple with shifting geopolitical dynamics, the BRICS alliance could play a crucial role in shaping the future of international relations. Whether it will emerge as a true rival to the Western-led world order remains to be seen, but one thing is clear – the influence of these emerging economies is steadily on the rise.

NEXT YEAR TRUMP WILL JOIN THIS GROUP
Why is North Korea and Saudi Arabia not part of BRICS?
What would happen to BRICS if the EU and US stop trade with them?
It cannot, they just don't co-operate within each other, china has border problems with russia and india, China has no good relations with any of it's neighbour,You can't have two great equals in the same team, BRICS hasn't achieved a single thing and will not achieve anything in future as well, it's just an alliance for the name sake.
Trump must stop being delusional…the US dominance is the thing of the past . USA has created a bad reputation all around the world , they are no longer feared
