Cilantro—the essence of seasonal flavors and my “soulmate” in the kitchen
Cilantro, also known as coriander in some parts of the world, is a humble herb that packs a powerful punch when it comes to flavor. It’s no wonder that it has become a staple in kitchens around the globe, including my own. As a Chinese cook hailing from Yunnan, I have a special connection to cilantro that goes beyond just its culinary uses.
In Tonghai, Yunnan, where I come from, cilantro is not a commonly grown vegetable. However, my love for this herb runs deep, so I took it upon myself to plant some cilantro in our family garden. The results were nothing short of spectacular—fresh, tender cilantro that added a burst of flavor to every dish it touched.
Cilantro isn’t just reserved for cold dishes in our household; we sprinkle it into stir-fries, soups, cakes, and even cold drinks. Its versatile nature is a testament to its ability to elevate any dish, no matter the flavor profile. As a true cilantro enthusiast, I believe that this herb belongs everywhere in the kitchen.
When I cook with cilantro, I feel a sense of joy and connection to the earth. Its vibrant green leaves symbolize the freshest of flavors, and its aroma fills the kitchen with warmth and comfort. Cilantro isn’t just an ingredient to me—it’s a friend, a companion, a soulmate in the kitchen.
As you watch my recipe video featuring cilantro, I hope you too can feel the magic that this herb brings to the table. Let its essence of seasonal flavors inspire you to experiment with new dishes and embrace the joys of cooking with fresh, wholesome ingredients. Remember, cilantro isn’t just a herb—it’s a way of life.
So, join me in celebrating the beauty of cilantro and all it has to offer. Let’s cook together, share stories, and savor the flavors of this remarkable herb. As we embark on this culinary journey, may cilantro continue to be our guiding light in the kitchen, adding a touch of magic to every dish we create.
Together, let’s embrace the essence of seasonal flavors and make cilantro our “soulmate” in the kitchen. Happy cooking, and may your dishes be filled with the love and warmth that only cilantro can bring.

I definitely want to try those meat buns, but with chicken because I can't eat pork. Poor grandma tried to help the cilantro grow better but it did the opposite 😂. It's good to see the family enjoying good food after working so hard all the time.

香菜是好可怕的食物,我非常怕她的味道,比香菜更讓我怕的是折耳根,折耳根又稱魚腥草,又腥又苦加上香菜,看的我眼睛睜大再睜大😂😂😂

We Want Penji and Liziqi collaboration now ❤❤❤ would love to see it…
