Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh issued a heartfelt apology during a press conference on December 31 for the unrest and violence that has plagued the state throughout the year. “This entire year has been very unfortunate for all of us,” Singh said. “I want to sincerely apologize to the people of Manipur for the violence and unrest that has occurred. As Chief Minister, it is my duty to ensure the safety and wellbeing of every citizen, and I acknowledge that we have fallen short in that regard.”
The Chief Minister went on to urge for forgiveness and unity among the people of Manipur, emphasizing the importance of coming together to overcome the challenges that have arisen.
