My speech will constitute an introspection into one of the most profound ideas that has puzzled humanity for centuries: the concept of fate and the extent of our free will. Being told that I am „destined to achieve a lot” since I can remember, but simultaneously struggling a lot and severely questioning my competence in nearly every realm of my life I still somehow managed to achieve the majority of my goals in my life so far. This has lead me to asking myself a question, which my TED Talk is aimed at answering – To what extent are our chances of success predetermined at birth, and do we even possess the autonomy to shape our destinies? Hi my name is Hania and I am truly honored to be a part of TEDxYouth in 2SLO!! I’m 18 years old and attend IBDP 1 in Prus High, where I study Business Management and biology as my main HLs. I associate my future mainly with Economics and IBA, however I am also deeply interested in psychology and politics. In my free time I usually pursue any form of art or attend/organize Model United Nations conferences.
