If they learned from Texas and other natural disasters, is that many people cannot survive without electricity.
Sad 😮

The poor suffer the most from the greed of the rich. What has DeSantis done to prevent all this damage or make affordable flood insurance to help the poor. Nothing. Florida is the 3rd largest economy in America and Florida/DeSantis won't spend a penny to save the most vulnerable who are hurting the most.
DeSantis is too busy ruining the economy in Florida by fighting fake culture wars against Disney. He said "pick yourselves up by your bootstraps". The GQP offered thoughts and prayers.
All of the sun down towns are being devastated 😭

I kept telling ppl here that tornados are the worse part of hurricanes, and it’s the out skirts that’s the most dangerous part. Don’t believe me! I paid attention in science class in the 80’s-2004!! Paid close attention!!
And flooding doesn’t stop at the end of a storm, it’s still expanding and water will continue to rise! This is HORRIBLE, just WAIT until the Insiranxe company violates them. I would be OUT of Florida!! The way they charge for Insurance rates and don’t pay out is INSANE!
“I’m not in a flood zone”,’and then a flood happens!
Help is arriving, be strong Florida
Hurricanes like to make us suffer very much.
It is still rising?
Assuming I live here, if it was a once in a lifetime event, I could live with the hardships. If there was a high chance of a similarly powerful hurricane next year, I would probably stop taking action.
Florida is in no way prepared.
Don't worry people Desantis will help you
Are there programs being developed to help folks, especially poor or razed people, get assistance with moving and resettling?
And if new building in high risk zones isn't stopped, make much stricter location and quality requirements?
These weather patterns are just going keep as predicted by models. And will continue.
Insurance companies would have a vested economic reason in prevention rather than constant rebiildings.
At some point all these private insurance companies are going to stop insuring or charge more and more requirements. Which again would hurt the poor, disabled, or elderly the most since they have fewest resources.
In the 80s my dad was on a state based insurance commission. Back in 1985 he was worried about some zoning allowing new constructions and the risk of insurance providers.
Its time to move. I hate to say that. This will keep happening- it is time to go. I have lived in AZ for 50 years and its hot, but we NEVER see ANYTHING like this. EVER
