Death toll rises after Russian strikes hit Ukraine

The death toll in Ukraine has continued to rise after Russian strikes hit various locations across the country. A children’s hospital in Kyiv, the Ohmatdyt Children’s Hospital, suffered serious damage during the rare daytime attacks, resulting in the evacuation of patients and staff. Tragically, at least 31 people have been killed in different parts of Ukraine as a result of the strikes.

Images from the scene show young children, some with IV drips, sitting outside the hospital as they await medical attention. The hospital, which is Ukraine’s largest paediatrics facility, is now in ruins, further exacerbating the already dire situation in the war-torn country.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, currently in Poland, has condemned the attacks and vowed to retaliate. As tensions escalate between Ukraine and Russia, it is evident that innocent civilians, including children, are bearing the brunt of the conflict.
