The Democratic National Convention (DNC) for 2024 kicked off in Chicago with thousands of delegates attending the event despite the virtual roll call that had already endorsed Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. The convention is expected to draw over 5,000 Democratic delegates, high-profile guests, and party officials from across the US, along with 12,000 volunteers, 50,000 visitors, and numerous reporters covering the event.
While the Democratic Party has not yet released a full list of speakers, reports suggest that prominent figures such as current President Joe Biden, former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, as well as former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, will be giving speeches. Kamala Harris is also slated to address attendees on the final day of the conference.
The convention is being held at two main locations – the United Center for official proceedings, speeches, and televised events, and McCormick Place for daytime party meetings, consultations, and briefings.
With such a lineup of influential speakers and a significant turnout of delegates and guests, the 2024 DNC is expected to be a pivotal event for the Democratic Party and an opportunity for key figures to rally support and discuss the party’s priorities and plans for the future.
