Hezbollah’s deputy leader signaled a willingness to consider a ceasefire with Israel in Lebanon, amidst escalating tensions between the two adversaries. The possibility of a negotiated truce arose as Israeli forces increased their military presence in southern Lebanon, heightening the risk of further conflict.
Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant claimed that Hezbollah’s anticipated new leader, Hashem Safieddine, had been “eliminated”, potentially dealing a significant blow to the militant group. Safieddine was widely expected to succeed the deceased Hezbollah leader, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.
In response to these developments, Hezbollah expressed openness to ceasefire efforts in order to de-escalate the situation. This move suggests a willingness to engage in diplomatic solutions rather than escalating the conflict further.
FRANCE 24’s Rawad Taha provided updates on the situation from Beirut, shedding light on the complex dynamics at play between Hezbollah, Israel, and the wider region. As tensions continue to simmer, the possibility of a negotiated ceasefire offers a glimmer of hope for peace in Lebanon.
The situation remains fluid, with both sides closely monitoring developments and weighing their next steps carefully. As the world watches with bated breath, the outcome of these ceasefire efforts could have far-reaching implications for the stability of the region.

Lebanon is a failed country that does not respect international agreements. Just as they have not stood in the UN 1701 resolution in 2006 to withdraw Hezbollah from the Israeli border toward the Litani River for 18 years, so they will not meet future agreements.
Too late
Shortages of Ammo they will start again after new consignments from Iran.
After firing 9000 rockets for a year nonstop now you want a ceasefire
Premium victim card activation. No to cheese fire. No to taqqiyya. 😂😂😂

😂😂😂..this is one of the tactics most terrorists use when they are losing .. don't fall into this type of trap..
Israel has no interests anymore
U can't start a war and decide when it ends
Deputy? Nobody wants to be top dog…haha
Look how much he is hiding
Ofcourse Hezbollah has to ask for a ceasefire. There is pressure on them from the innocent Labanese population who completely do not support the presence of Hezbollah in Labanon. The population sees Hezbollah as the cause of the death of their people .Secondly the fire pressure from isreal artillery killing almost 99% of Hezbollah leadership. They have to give up. But Isreal totally wants no inch of Hezbollah. Util they are done Isreal can not ceasefire.
The very reason Iran creates, financed and armed Hezbollah is to use it as a forward base of IRGC Quds forces to harass and threaten Israel, and to use it as a proxy army in case of war with Israel.
Israel lived with this menace for a ling time, but after October 07 this threat became unbearable. This is the Israel’s chance to remove this threat from the north, and it is now, or never. Israel elected “NOW”.
Please no cease fire the Lebanese people want to be free ,,, please free Lebanon
