At the recent COP29 annual climate conference, developing nations expressed their disappointment with the $300 billion deal that was reached by delegates from around the world. Despite the significant financial commitment, representatives from developing countries argued that the sum was simply not enough to address the urgent climate crisis facing their nations.
For years, developing nations have been calling for more concrete financial assistance from wealthier countries to help them mitigate and adapt to the effects of climate change. The $300 billion deal falls short of what these countries believe is necessary to make a meaningful impact on reducing greenhouse gas emissions and building resilience to climate-related disasters.
The frustration of developing nations is palpable, as many of them are already experiencing the devastating effects of climate change, including rising sea levels, extreme weather events, and food and water insecurity. The inadequate financial support from wealthier countries only exacerbates their struggles and deepens the inequality between nations in addressing the climate crisis.
As the conference continues, developing nations are pushing for more ambitious commitments from wealthier countries to increase financial aid and support for climate action. They emphasize the need for a more equitable distribution of resources and a greater sense of urgency in addressing the climate crisis, which disproportionately impacts the most vulnerable populations in developing countries.
While the $300 billion deal is a step in the right direction, it is clear that much more needs to be done to effectively combat climate change and support those who are most affected by its consequences. Developing nations are calling on the international community to step up their efforts and provide the necessary resources to address this global challenge before it is too late.

The west is growing a huge poverty class following this agenda. When no one can afford life anymore, good luck collecting taxes to pay with.
All those protesters in their kayaks. Made from oil products. That they cartied there on their cars. How ironic.
Nothing says entitlement like…
What is the climate foot print left by the Ukrainian, Russian, Israeli armies? Yet here we are supporting these wars around the world sending them money and weapons to reek havoc.
Developing countries could subject this money to corruption and/or not use it for its intended purpose. Lets see what they do with this money before giving them more. They aren't exactly trustworthy, especially India.
Cut it to zero immediately.
Money laundering. The world’s second and fifth largest economies on the planet (China and India), need a handout to fix their air? What a con.
Interesting how much China is pitching in? And what are rich countries ?
India has the 5th largest GDP, and they are a recipient of climate aid? Total scam. We need to exit the Paris agreement like America is going to do.
Canada should apply as much effort to the climate targets as Trudeau Liberals give to meeting the NATO 2% commitment.
Those island nations are not sinking. India needs natural gas. Immediately cut their co2 by 1/2. If you reduce oil prices so developing countries can afford energy and use tech to reduce carbon emissions they all would be better off. The US has cut its emissions hugely in the last decade but you need more tech and carbon capture capability to truly cut emissions. Coal if the number one emitter but even that could be used if you have more efficient systems and carbon control systems. If anyone thinks we are getting off oil in the next 100 years you not thinking straight. The only tech we have now that could do it is nuclear. So if your against nuclear you are against low C02 emissions. Simple isn’t it. With thorium modular reactors it would be safe and power our grid’s indefinitely. Cheap clean power that is safe. Figure it out.
Thats chump change when you Consider huge trillions dolars c EV companies that they have raised on the backs of poor laborers working hazardous mines for the rare earth minerals that the west wants so much for its so called renewable energy push for its clean energy propaganda. Man its not clean in any aspect, . They are literally killing millions of labourers all around the world by metal toxicity and posining entire ecosystems that makes even the future generations to suffer from ill effects. And at the end of the day few entitled elite claims the responsibility of climate change fly to grand location burning million of gallons of fuel in private gets to talk about climate change that they have caused by pumping millions of tons of green House gases every day for last two centuries. and decided to put a tax the very resources they have used for centuries to reach level of development and prosperity they have acchived. We all know what is the issue here, and who is responsible here and who shoud bear the entire cost. But you see these ignorent moronic folk who think there country is world , There is nothing outside its border except, poverty, and corruption. You guys in west seriously needds a reality check. You shoud probably look a genius history book if there exist one. If you start adding all the damage west has caused, i don't think you can it correctly, for the morons who think 300billion is too much
Agenda 2030 redistribution of wealth.
Drill baby drill
Countries that have been around for 1000 years still “developing”. Meanwhile Canada and USA are only a couple hundred years old, and fully developed.
give them NOTHING!
Why do we give money to these countrys, they are all in some way a dictatorship, to think this money is going to help the people is absolutely ridiculous. Seems like a money laundering scam
Not 1$ should be leaving Canada!
what a joke…
Why don't they go over to China where they aren't really doing anything to help with global warming
