President Donald Trump has announced significant tariffs on car imports to the US, with a 25% tax being imposed on vehicles and car parts. The new taxes are set to go into effect on April 2nd for vehicles and the following day for businesses importing cars. Additionally, tariffs on parts are scheduled to start in May or later.
In making his announcement, Trump declared that these tariffs would lead to immense growth within the industry, creating jobs and driving investment in the US. However, analysts have expressed concerns that this move could result in the temporary shutdown of major car production in the country, as well as lead to increased prices and strain relations with US allies.
The imposition of these tariffs has the potential to disrupt global car trade and supply chains, impacting not only manufacturers but also consumers who may face higher prices for vehicles and parts. This decision comes amidst already tense trade negotiations with various countries, and could have far-reaching consequences for the automotive industry worldwide.
The effects of Trump’s latest trade policy will certainly be closely monitored and analyzed in the coming months. Stay tuned for more updates and developments on this story.

just trust *him*. don't think negative. he will country great again. just let him tariffs first and see the results. we might lose something now but we might earn more in future.
Honda!! 😂😂no thanks
Other countries have been imposing tariffs on imported cars for decades to prop up their locally-produced cars
the north and south of us need us more than we need them
To be fair, importing an American car to the eu (I've tried) is a massive pain: VAT, carbon tax, registration costs, all amount to a few thousand euro. Hence why you almost never see an America car in the eu, but always see an eu car in the us. The eu profits massively from all the jobs and profits associated with it. How is that fair?
Freeloaders always complain. 😂
why did yall vote for this guy again
I just took my morning trump. Can you smell it?
I bet the educated Americans are just over the moon with this news
There is a high chance that he will just take back these decisions
So better buy that new vehicle this week. End of month sales and before April 2nd
trump forcing companies to invest in US. samsung, TSMC and now car companies. brilliant!! Trump playing chess while everyone else, especially traditional media, is playing checkers.
I am Uncle Sam. I have been robbed. God bless USA 🇺🇸
It’s a trap. Trump only wants a fiery response so he can play tough guy for his audience. Stay silence in your response and by Apr2 he will be walking the tariffs back.
He always reminds me of Jaba the hutt
wanted to buy a brand new 3500 ram HD , guess that is not happening now.
Wait until the Americans can't afford to live and see how popular Trump is , after 25%tariffs on cars you might want to buy a bicycle 😅 no worries Donald will give ya a lift with his new talsa
This is just protectionism because US automakers cannot complete on the global market, and haven’t been able to for a few decades now.
UK and Europe should not buy ANYTHING made in America.
Trade war? They don't even take our vehicles and u take up for foreign countries you turds
I'm convinced that Numpty Trumpty believes that its the foreign exporters will pay the tariffs, not the American consumer. 😂😂😂
Partner with Africa
Great cars will double in price like my food just did.
M@ga is failing
EU should be happy with 25% tariff because it's 100% for Chinese cars.
inflation is climbing so fast. wow!!
Thnx M@GA!!
people just arnt getting it lol the point is to bring those companies to America which then creates jobs. AMERICAN PEOPLE WONT BE PAYING THAT TAX FOREVER AND THATS WHAT PEOPLE ARE NOT UNDERSTANDING WHEN THOSE COMAPNIES COME THEN THERE GOES THAT EXTRA COST
freeloaders can no longer freeloading … wcyd
He should also make mandatory all crew, staff on all cruise ships only american people, it is also huge! Just do not mention that now waiters there work for less than 5$/hour😂
Well done Trump, you keep impovishing your fellow Americans. I'm sure they'll all really appreciate paying 5k to 10k more on popular car brands. 🤡🤡🤡
Will the parts that are made in other countries but assembled in the US be tariffed too!?
Dude, even the US car manufacturing parts are come from Canada and Mexico 🙄 it will increase US domestic car prices also 😂
President working only in interest for his voters.
Maga is alone against the world! Fight for freedom, fight for democracy the rest of the west will boycott until YOU take the wheel again❤
He has as much a grasp on global economic policy as a concussed bumblebee
Buy a car made in the US sounds risky, we all see what has been happening with Boeing planes, malfunctioning here and there, we all know its not the american workers fault, its the greedy business owners trying to do everything cheaply and greedy.
Does this tariff include Tesla?
Thats what good about Trump that he is the man of action, a true leader.
EU value added taxes apply to every seller, that's not a tariff! It's the same for every seller! The EU and my home of Switzerland have an average import tariff of 1.4% (a common rate for processing) just like the US before Trump, there is no disadvantage for the US at all!
Trump is destroying US life.
Time to re evaluate public transportation. More of it and better transit station.
Have the Americans mony to a car when the food is so expensive??????
Basically trying to push consumers to buy Tesla after the drop in sales?
More of the same. Harebrained leadership.
