In a recent video, Elon Musk has confirmed that the Tesla Semi is set to receive a big upgrade following a fire crash incident. Despite the incident being caused by driver error, Tesla is taking proactive steps to improve the safety and design of their electric trucks.
One of the key updates mentioned by Musk is the introduction of new batteries for the Tesla Semi. These batteries are expected to enhance the performance and range of the electric truck, making it an even more attractive option for commercial users.
Additionally, Musk announced that the Tesla Semi will soon have Full Self-Driving (FSD) capabilities, further positioning it as a leader in the electric truck market. This feature will undoubtedly make the Semi even more appealing to businesses looking to streamline their logistics operations.
Furthermore, Musk revealed that the Tesla Semi will be produced at Giga Berlin, indicating the company’s commitment to expanding their manufacturing capabilities and meeting the growing demand for electric vehicles.
Overall, the future looks bright for the Tesla Semi, with exciting upgrades, new design features, and improved battery technology on the horizon. Stay tuned for more updates on this innovative electric truck from Tesla!

I believe in Tesla’s mission, but they need to take a hard look at the safety of their vehicles after this incident.
The fire is a serious concern, but I still believe the Tesla Semi is a vital part of our future transportation network.
I agree with the article that the Tesla Semi fire could have long-term implications for public trust in EVs.
Driver sabotage ….
How do these batteries perform in subzero winter conditions.
I’ve been averaging $3.2/gallon last month.
500 miles at 8.7mpg —> 57.5 gallons needed to make the trip.
57.5 gallons x $3.2/gallons = $184
If I run mostly in Texas, it’d be cheaper
Thank you for sharing this video
Could a modification allow the truck to separate from its trailer if fire is detected – at least to minimize burning and overall damage.
Tesla are already late to the party in Europe.
Other companies are already delivering electric trucks to customers and have done so for over 12 months.
Volvo Mercedes and others have made big inroads whilst Tesla has been asleep at the wheel.
Additionally DHL and Volvo have run 3 years of actual road medium haul – long haul from Italy to Belgium and Germany proving the efficiency of electric.
As of February 2024 DHL have started using Mercedes electric truck in Australia.
Sorry Tesla, your are already loosing out.
Even Eddison Motors in Canada has commenced building 6 new Hybrid Diesel electric trucks for customers and using already proven Scania Euro 5 EPA compliant engines that provide the beauty of Diesel Electric propulsion and can run long haul from pure battery and generation on the go with the 9 litre diesel genset capable of driving the truck and charging the battery at the same time and can provide power to homes in the event of a blackout.
These Eddison trucks can cruise at 90 kph or 55 mph for over 1000 kms towing 44 MT ( 96,800 lbs) of payload. – Tesla – maybe might get maybe 70% of that range and then must find a dedicated charge station.
Edison just needs a splash of diesel and away she goes.
The batteries in the semi truck is bomp car
Could the Tesla Semi fire be an indication that we are not yet fully prepared for the challenges of large-scale EV adoption?
Is the push for electrification in the transportation industry moving too fast, potentially overlooking critical safety concerns?
How will Tesla’s competitors use this incident to their advantage in the electric truck market?
What steps can Tesla take to restore public confidence in the safety of the Semi Truck after this incident?
I want semi with FSD and trailer turned into tiny home.
Could the Tesla Semi fire prompt a shift in public opinion against large-scale electrification of trucks?
How can Tesla improve its emergency response systems to better handle situations like this in the future?
How will this incident impact Tesla’s stock price and investor confidence in the short term?
Is there a way to make the Tesla Semi’s battery more fire-resistant without compromising its performance?
Should Tesla introduce new safety features in the Semi to prevent similar incidents from happening again?
WHO is that narrator. Sooo annoying
SHUT up
Self driving truck sounds like alot harder to make than a self driving car
techy hug arms
This will never work. No one is going to want their freight setting somewhere for three days while the battery charges combustible engines will never go away face it.
FSD is an obvious way to go. Elon and his team will get it figured out. Unfortunately, people do stupid things, can't stop people from doing stupid stuff.
They need a new battery to make the semi lighter and go further to at least 1,000- 1,200 miles, and parking spots need to have a charger. That way, you can charge overnight while sleeping. With that it'll become a good solo truck. A trucker can travel 700+ miles in one day and the extra 300- 500 power miles is for the safety of the driver like waiting out weather or road condition of any kind which could lead to many miles without a charger in site
The new simi factory building is going up in Sparks.
There is steel standing & they are laying down roof panels.
ALSO, they rolled out 26 brand newly built simis ready for delivery.

It’s disappointing to see such a promising vehicle face these challenges, but I’m hopeful Tesla will learn and improve.
I agree with the article that this incident could lead to stricter regulations, which might ultimately benefit the industry.
The Tesla Semi fire is a reminder that the path to a sustainable future isn’t without its obstacles.
This fire could be a turning point for the EV industry, prompting a much-needed focus on safety.
The fire is a stark reminder that we need to approach the electrification of transportation with caution and responsibility.
FSD is THE best feature of my Model Y. I use it every trip, just tell it where to go and leave the monitored driving to the car. With the multiple cameras it “sees” in all directions and is constantly evaluating the behavior of pedestrians and traffic. It moves to give pedestrians greater clearance and slowed down to keep their behavior in check. Cars approaching from side streets are given the idiot test and if they are threatening to make a dangerous move the Tesla sounds an alarm just in case.
Using it on the expressway its performance is excellent. It constantly evaluates the driving conditions and alters the cruise speed to suit its best guess for safety. Having this in a semi truck would be a game changer. The inside camera will know when the driver is not paying Enoch=ugh attention and will alarm and possible take evasive action.
FSD is outstanding! And it will only get better.
A 16 hour fire and blockage of the highway is UNACCEPTABLE.
Sleep inducing lorries are probably dangerous .
they put some stupid slob behind the wheel of a new Tesla semi, only to have the sob fall asleep behind the wheel?, and destroy the thing, did he burn up in the blaze?
Wow, 16 hours people lost that time of their day because they couldn’t put out a battery fire from a POS that we do not need
Certainly it is Tesla's fault to cause the fire
The CHP has not determined the cause of the crash. Witnesses reported the truck was on fire before the crash.
I believe the TESLA TEAM not ELON will get the Semi going and doing runs safely… There is huge opportunity to see it get done. ELON Is just the CEO but ELON Musk is NOT the brains behind the team that gets the job done.
