The recent incident involving a Tesla Semi catching fire has shocked both Elon Musk and the public. The electric truck, known for its impressive capabilities, burned down almost 80% of the vehicle, leading to a 16-hour highway closure. The real reason behind the fire has left many questioning the safety of the Semi Truck, especially considering its massive lithium battery packs.
Despite warnings about the potential risks of a Tesla Semi fire, the incident still took many by surprise. With only a limited number of Semi trucks produced so far, one would think the chances of such an issue would be minimal. However, this unfortunate event has raised concerns about the safety of the Tesla Semi and whether it will continue to be trusted and produced in the future.
Elon Musk and the Tesla team are likely working to address the cause of the fire and implement necessary measures to prevent similar incidents from occurring. Whether the Tesla Semi will be able to bounce back from this setback remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure – safety will be a top priority moving forward.

It’s a wake-up call for the entire EV industry—bigger batteries mean bigger risks, and we need better solutions.
I agree that the Tesla Semi’s battery size poses a unique challenge, but this incident might push Tesla to innovate even further in safety.
The fire is troubling, but it seems unfair to judge the entire Tesla Semi project based on one incident.
You should be ashamed at all the mistakes in this. You showed a Rivian R1S and said it has an 70-85kwh pack. They have 100-180kwh depending on configuration. The CyberTruck has 123, but only the Hummer EV and Silverado EV have over 200 (212).
The Semi just started validation for Autopilot so 0 of them have Autopilot currently.
I have an idea that can half the battery and extend the range . . . Indefinitely.
#Tesla #ElonMusk
So, what was the reason?
63,000 battery cells now we can fully calculate the energy density of the Tesla semi
Fok jaa❤🎉
The Tesla Semi fire is concerning, but let’s not forget that innovation is often a process of trial and error.
I agree with the article that this fire could shake public confidence in EVs, but it’s also an opportunity for Tesla to demonstrate their commitment to safety.
I worry that incidents like this could slow down the adoption of electric trucks, which would be a setback for the environment.
It’s an isolated incident. Ask the truckers that drive them.
The Tesla Semi has immense potential, but this incident underscores the importance of rigorous safety testing.
This fire raises valid concerns, but I hope it doesn’t deter the progress of electric trucks, which are essential for a sustainable future.
Why would you buy a electric automobiles when the chips control them? The chips are made in China. They can do alot with the chips.
Let's wait a few months and see what effect the toxic chemicals have on the surrounding forest. If trees start dying it will mean that the land is unfit for cultivation. This will create massive toxic desert areas whenever there is an EV fire. Very ecological.
In a full EV, you can evan dive it in water tank and it won´t extinguish… we talking about PLASMA, not fire!! AssHols!! You know how you solder a boat in the underwater part??…of course not!!
WOW——THIS IS AWFUL—–EV BIKES—-KILLED 45 IN—NY CITY—-BATTERIES BLOWING UP—–NO THANKS FOLKS—–OVERHEATING BATTERIES—–BIG PROBLEMS—–
Tesla car world ,
Um , I think I understand what you’re saying . But I’m not sure you do .
The lithium ion batteries do TWO things when a battery pack gets damaged , and you have TWO THINGS the firemen have to contend with . ONE is the SHORT circuit , which creates the heat . Well dumping water on a whole slew of un damaged other batteries is only going to esaserbate the problem . So the battery pack design could use a change . NEXT is the heat when AIR gets to the damaged ones .
EVERY FIRE needs two of three things . Air fuel and heat . To battle a fire like this one , the fire fighters have to take away to of the three things it needs to keep going .
In this case , you’re trying to stop the fuel from burning . So you must take the AIR and HEAT away . Water is most plentiful , but it has two elements in it . Both are volitile by themselves . Oxygen and hydrogen . Yah what a conundrum .
The firefighters need to smother the fire with a non conductive material , like HALON fire suppression . And I believe that will assist things . Then isolate the affected batteries from the un damaged ones .
What do you think ? Fire fighting needs to evolve with sorce of fire .
Demo-Crap party pushing green economy Electrician vehicle BS
That figure of 82,000 lbs includes 40,000 lbs of batteries meaning it can only carry around ½ the weight of a diesel semi. Further the figure of 500 miles is a semi with no load – with a load it reduces to around 200 to 300 miles maximum. Not yet viable
I wonder how’much money he payed the government to passed the safety of the vehicle
That results to gasoline polution of stalled vehicles due to freeway shut down 😢
When Elon says he's shocked, he really means he expected it.
So all the safety equipment blocking the lanes of traffic is whats really to blame not the electric truck! The said the same thing about diesel trucks when they were developed. Get a grip people, the truck didnt just spontainiously explode! the driver wrecked it ! come on man!
Now ya'll make sure to look both ways before crossing the road!
EV fire stats are horribly skewed because they come from the USDOT who only counts ON-ROAD vehicle fires. Most EV fires occur OFF-ROAD, usually while charging at home or in a parking lot. Conveniently, none of those EV fires make it into the statistics, even though they take a garage, home, or entire parking garage full of vehicles with them.
A company will come up with a lighter and better battery.
Just ban all the evs using lithium ion. Period
Water????
Tesla is not that great of a company mainly bcuz Elon Must is a very unusual company owner & operator 😂😂😂
