What’s impressive is CATL’s commitment to actually commercializing these breakthroughs—unlike other companies still stuck in R&D.
A 1 million km battery lifespan completely shifts the cost-of-ownership equation in favor of EVs.
The fact that an LFP battery can now deliver nearly 500 miles of range shows how far chemistry optimization has come.
We may be just a few years away from EVs that not only outperform ICE vehicles but cost less too—even before subsidies.
Will Tesla adopt the Shenxing Pro battery, or stick with its 4680 cells and in-house innovations?
Could sodium-ion batteries make energy storage for solar/wind cheap enough to eliminate the need for fossil fuel backup?
A 1 million km battery lifespan completely shifts the cost-of-ownership equation in favor of EVs.
A 1 million km battery lifespan completely shifts the cost-of-ownership equation in favor of EVs.
The 10-minute charging capability could finally make EVs practical for long-haul travel and eliminate range anxiety once and for all.

Hydrogen battery
We don't need batteries, we can burn Hydrogen cleanly in combustion cars with no need for huge toxic mining and the cars would be as cheap as a regular combustion car but there are many green leftists that can't bear the though of combustion in the future no matter how clean it is.
Volvo, BMW, Caterpillar and many more have successfully tested the hydrogen engine for years. More nuclear energy to make clean hydrogen and problem solved.
