Unveiling Xinjiang: The Heart of Ancient Silk Roads
In a world filled with contrasting cultures and histories, few locations encapsulate the rich tapestry of human civilization like Xinjiang, China’s most restricted province. Closed off to many, this enigmatic region whispers tales of the past, where the Silk Road once thrived and diverse cultures mingled.
In the latest episode of This is China’s MOST RESTRICTED province: Xinjiang 🇨🇳 | S8, EP114, join me as I embark on an unforgettable journey through Kashgar, one of Xinjiang’s oldest cities. Known as a critical hub on the Silk Road, Kashgar offers a unique blend of history, architecture, and tradition that captivates every traveler. With my freshly acquired Chinese driver’s license and a temporary plate, I am poised to explore this vibrant oasis, where every street corner brims with stories waiting to be uncovered.
From bustling bazaars filled with exotic spices and hand-crafted goods to ancient mosques that stand as a testament to the region’s spiritual richness, Kashgar invites you to plunge into its cultural depths. Each alley holds the promise of discovery, painting a vivid picture of the past while navigating the complexities of the present.
So gear up for an immersive experience as we delve into the heart of Xinjiang, unraveling the layered narratives of a province that holds both beauty and mystery. Join me on this extraordinary adventure, where the echoes of the Silk Road still resonate through the bustling market squares and tranquil landscapes of this forgotten land.

Restricted? We live in a globalized world now. Remember?
Your videos make me want to travel the world. It's amazing how China is so technologically advanced. Perfect blend of the old and the new
Wow, welcome to China! Enjoy your time!
How sad it is to see a group of people in China living under pressure, without even having the right to defend their religion, at a time when the world talks about humanity. Seeing their mosques closed or converted is deeply heartbreaking. It is especially painful for many Muslims, particularly Chinese Muslims. What is happening there is genocide.😢😢
Wow the different world cultures we see in Noraly’s travels are so honest and real without the political spin of the big media companies. Actually living in a world as honest and real as Noraly shows us is probably uni manageable sadly)…
I think that is because crime is banned there. (It’s not an option)
It seems that all of the people you see free and alive are those that comply to Chinese law. No “grey” area!
You and Checkpoint Chaser are both from the Netherlands
China is such a wunderful country.
OMG amazing I just came across your video but ended up watching the entire video
You coming to the Philippines?
"They don't have one Yuan change, they will give you two lollipops" (с) It's some same in Russia 2000 year ☺
Noraly, wish you a good road 🙂
China is so amazing. I had the luck to travel they at the end of last year. What an eye opener. In the west we are told that it is noisy and the air is bad. In fact, it has reached the best levels of air quality. The streets are clean the people I met were welcoming. I felt much safer traveling they than I did in the USA. Please point out the good you see to open the west to the truth.
😂😂😂chinese 50cents commentators are using fake account using western names and manipulating the comment areas. Just track their IP adresses they are in china whoch youtube and google is banned.
They use always what about isim to western world to justify what they did is right but they forget something west bring the knowlege and modern idiology freedom of speech and thought.
🎉
wow 😮 China is such a beautiful and wonderful country. I wish to travel there. Hope relations get close and friendly between India and China. 🇮🇳 ❤ 🇨🇳
I liked your dancing … you're a lovely little mover, Norilly! 😁
Bloody good Normally, I feel like I'm traveling the whole world with your videos. Thank you
It amazes me how advanced China is. Even the remotest locations there allow online transactions.
i kinda wanna live here
Map Of India is not shown properly
I spent a week in Xinjiang in 1981 selling manufacturing software to the Xinjiang Pump Manufactory. I can assure you its very different now. We were like the animals at the zoo as everyone stopped to look at us. We had “guards”the whole time within feet of us and outside our doors at night and everyone wore the same style blue clothes.Having said that I received a Christmas card for several years from the guy who was the head of Xinjiang province – a huge job in the hierarchy!
Some Westerners (mostly from Turkic ethnic groups, such as Turks) advocate for the independence of Xinjiang and the establishment of "East Turkestan." Yet, they would never dare tell the United States to "Free 37 states."
You make a great ambassador for the Dutch. They should be proud of you!
I am from XinJiang and currently live in the UK, XinJiang is my hometown , beautiful area with lovely people. I feel very sad and anger when the western media spread the untrue information about it , thank you for the video ( specially not from Chinese people's mouth of word ) 🥰
the thing with forcefully retiring old motorcycles makes kind of sense: in China and other developing countries motorcycles make the majority of the vehicles while in Europe they a small niche. And old motorcycle have very bad exhaust gases espacially if two stroke engines. So banning them significantly improves air quality. and it helps selling new motor cycles which help the econonomy. also new motor cycles have better breaks and less noisy which helps improve safety and envorivonmental impact.
Welcome to China and have a nice trip. I studied in Rotterdam 20 years ago. I like the Netherlands so much. Looking forward visit Rotterdam again some day❤❤❤
Maybe you should consider trying the Philippine Loop since you're in Asia. Just my opinion.
I believe every Chinese audience would smile when the GOLF CAR crossed in😂
I never missed any of your videos until Afghanistan. I am a professional rally driver, an engineer, an auto buff, and a blogger. I did not expect you to talk the way you described those Afghans around you wherever you stopped. Particularly those 40 people, as you said, were swarming. I don't think anyone in that country ever harmed you, abused you or misbehaved. All I could see was inqusitive people around, considering that they had never seen a solo, white, female biker. Since then I stopped watching your videos, so did my family and friends when I explained to them. It was so distasteful and disgusting.
It amazing to see what the Chinese people have achieved in the last 50 years. The old city of Kashgar looks amazig. And arount it is see modern, clean, safe good living. Europe needs to go into a strategic alliance with China and abadon the lost old allies. Not only economically. The US are not a reliable, prospering partner anymor. They are a thread for our security. China and India should be our nearest alies in the future, including military alliances.
I don’t believe that Quran is been banned cause I just checked the online shop of China and I found it, it can be bought directly online by anyone. And the long beard is also not been banned, but only old people will like this style. Hope you can at least ask some local people or check for some information before you say these😅
Amazing the amount of comments already with SO MANY commenting how clean and amazing China is while putting down everywhere else you have been. Politics will be a problem it seems.
