As an architect, I must draw attention to the fact that there is no communist architecture, but modernist architecture, whose fathers are Le Corbusier, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and Walter Gropius, Brauer and many others, as well as modern art, and among them Russian and Ukrainian avant-garde and constructivism had a lot of influence….
The communist era went in line with modernism in society, science and culture, while the post-communist society in the former USSR now goes with post-classicism and kitsch most often.
People who are not interested in architecture do not realize that the pavilion in the park is aesthetically from the same school as some modern pump house in America in the fifties or sixties.
Hi Gabriel, thank you for sharing with us few of the places in Slovakia. As for the statue, as for the information on line, it is that of Ľudovít Winter, a Slovak businessman of Jewish-Hungarian origin, lessee and builder of the Piešťany spa. He wrote a book titled Memoirs of Piešťany
I don't wanna destroy the good vibes, but in Slovakia, there are currently several health challenges. Reports indicate outbreaks of foot-and-mouth disease (FMD), particularly near the border with Hungary, and a rising number of Hepatitis A cases. On 18 June 2025, the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) reported an increase of hepatitis A in Slovakia. Between January and May 2025, a total of 880 cases were reported.. Check it out for yourself, it was in the european news in the last days….

💚💚💚
It amazes me the degree to which civilizations have intersected and intertwined over time.
Those European spas are quite posh.
Can you possibly show the spa experience?
Well enjoyed, thank you! Love seeing the different buildings, people and historical sights!
✝️🙏💕💖
It would be cool to see your passport stamps on video from all of the places you have visited!
Slovakia is definitely a hidden gem, it’s been a beautiful country to explore. Piestany has some amazing old buildings and history. It’s such a shame that some of them are now abandoned. Hope you get to enjoy the real spa experience there. Wow, Thermia Palace looked really opulent, thanks for the tour. ❤🙏
is this Fico pro russian "Z" country🍙 thats why NO tourists STAY AWAY📛
WOW, where is everybody?! It used to be buzzing with locals and tourists. So sad to see. I was born there.
Intro music ❤ Gabe always with the good music!
za komunistov všetky tieto budovy a hotely fungovali. Potom prišiel prevrat 1989 a začalo pustošenie slovenského majetku. Takto sme vybudovali ten slávny kapitalizmus za 35 rokov. Je to hnus… prelož si to do angličtiny, lebo to nebudem prekladať ja.
Hey Gabe! If you are in Piešťany, I really recommend to visit Trnava city. Its very close and for sure worth a visit. It was the first town in (present day) Slovakia to be granted a town charter by the king.
Salmon and potatoes looks really good
💝💝💝
Orava castle is something not to be missed.
go to Bratislava, Trnava, Banska Bystrica
I am Slovak. Stay in Bratislava!
I don’t think I am impress of Slovakia and I don’t think I like to visit ! From the communist ex country’s definitely I like to visit Czechia. Romania Poland Lithuania Estonia but not Slovakia !
I love seeing small towns vs big cities, love this vid
This town has a totally different vibe. It looks more like a soviet style drab, nondescript city as far as most of the architecture is concerned. Poprad and Kosice, on the other hand, are far more beautiful and interesting.
You should visit NITRA next, awesome 👌 👍🇬🇧😀
