In a shocking turn of events, French far-left leader Jean-Luc Melenchon has accused President Emmanuel Macron of stealing the recent election from the French people. The New Popular Front (NPF) leftist alliance, led by Melenchon, emerged victorious in the snap elections but fell short of securing a majority.
The controversy stems from Macron’s decision to appoint Michel Barnier, the former European Union Brexit negotiator, as the new prime minister. Melenchon and his supporters believe that this move undermines the will of the French voters and represents a betrayal of democratic principles.
Melenchon’s criticism of Barnier’s appointment reflects a broader sense of frustration and disillusionment among the far left in France. Many feel that Macron’s choice of prime minister signals a shift towards centrist and pro-EU policies, disregarding the demands and aspirations of progressive forces in the country.
On the other hand, far-right voices have also expressed their discontent with Barnier’s appointment, viewing it as a symbol of Macron’s alignment with the European establishment and the political elite. This unlikely convergence of criticism from both the far left and far right underscores the divisive and contentious nature of French politics in the aftermath of the recent elections.
As the new government takes shape and the political landscape continues to evolve, it remains to be seen how the tensions between different factions will play out and impact the future direction of France. The accusations of election manipulation and betrayal reflect the deep-seated divisions and conflicting visions that are shaping the country’s political discourse.

He’s a Pfizer puppet, like Micron. France is not a democracy since many years now..
Honestly what is the point of elections, if it's just Macron choice in the end. France can save alot of money by just skipping to the part where Macron chooses.
I can’t wait for the no confidence vote 😂
Macron wants to prop up Barnier for the next presidential election.
The world can see la pen won the France vote and farage won the UK vote. None of us are stupid
LEAVE THE EU..& ALL WILL BE ALRIGHT 👍
Shhh. Don't mention that Le Pen's party won the most votes.
Far left?
When will all the cattle realise that your vote means nothing. No matter who you vote for, you get who the establishment wants.
Absolute joke of a choice. Feels incredibly desperate from Macron. I wouldn’t be surprised if his alliance is destroyed in elections going forward and it’s between the Popular Front & National Rally at the next presidential election.
an excellent choice IMHO. He has the experience and presence to bang heads together and get the Parliament moving again. His credentials are beyond reproach (other than J-LM's of course, because he fears MB the most).
Michel Bammier ?
If the Marine le Pen supports it it's over. The left doesn't have a majority vut the right does i don't know why they insist they won this election
It was obvious Macron wouldn't work with either the Popular Front or RN.
