The 2024 Hyundai Elantra N is revving up its looks and performance, and we recently had the opportunity to take it for a First Drive in Northern California. This compact sports sedan is redefining what a car in its class should be, starting with the standard six-speed manual transmission. For those who prefer automatic, an 8-speed paddle shift dual-clutch automatic is also available.

Under the hood, the Elantra N is powered by a 276-horsepower Turbo 2.0-liter I4 engine that delivers good throttle response, a snappy exhaust note, and just enough acceleration to put a smile on your face. The N performance shift button activates additional drive modes and a power boost, enhancing the driving experience.

On the outside, the Elantra N features styling updates such as a new front fascia, LED headlights, and a redesigned rear bumper. The new bodywork not only looks good but also improves cooling for the brakes. Inside, the driver-oriented cockpit boasts twin 10.25-inch displays with track and performance options, as well as driver assist features to keep you safe on the road.

The suspension on the 2024 Elantra N has been upgraded with reinforced bushings and engine mounts for sharper steering and cornering. The electronically controlled suspension has new software updates that adapt to different driving conditions, making this sports sedan equally at home on an autocross course or your favorite canyon road.

Priced starting at $34,100 for the manual transmission model and $36,300 for the automatic, the 2024 Hyundai Elantra N is now available at dealerships. Stay tuned for a full test of this nimble and smart sports sedan on MotorWeek.
