The long-awaited sequel to Ridley Scott’s epic “Gladiator” is finally here, as Gladiator 2 is set to hit theaters on November 22. The film promises to be one of the most visually stunning blockbusters of the year, with a first look revealing intense action and drama.
In Gladiator 2, we see Lucius, played by Paul Mescal, fighting off Roman soldiers led by Pedro Pascal’s character Marcus Acasis. Lucius is taken to Rome to fight as a gladiator, where he reunites with his mother Lucilla, played by Connie Neelen. Denzel Washington joins the cast as Marcus, a mastermind supplying armies in Europe with weapons and food.
Fred Heckinger and “Stranger Things” star Joseph Quinn play the sadistic rulers of Europe, Emperor Kacala and Emperor Geta. The showdown between Lucius and Acasis promises to be thrilling, with Vanity Fair announcing the release of the first proper trailer on July 9th.
