One promising solution is the use of synthetic fuels, also known as e-fuels, which could play a significant role in reducing carbon emissions.

Additionally, the possibility of producing fuel on the territory of NATO member states is being considered, allowing military forces to become more self-sufficient in terms of energy production. With targets set for the German armed forces to be climate-neutral by 2045 and the US army by 2050, the race is on to find innovative solutions that combine military readiness with environmental responsibility.
