Gaza Ceasefire: Joy as Palestinians Freed After Israeli Captives Released
In a dramatic turn of events in the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the release of nearly 2,000 Palestinians from Israeli prisons marks a significant milestone in a complex ceasefire agreement. This release follows the decision by Hamas to free all 20 living Israeli captives held in Gaza, signaling a glimmer of hope amid the devastation that has engulfed the region.
The families of many of the freed Palestinian detainees have expressed a mixed sense of joy and sorrow. While the celebrations in Gaza are palpable, the bittersweet nature of this moment is underscored by the news that many of these individuals will face deportation to third countries instead of returning home. Among those released are over 1,700 Palestinians who have been detained since the outbreak of war, illustrating the deep-rooted tensions that have persisted for years.
As buses carrying these detainees rolled into Khan Younis, they were met by large, jubilant crowds eager to embrace their loved ones. The atmosphere was filled with relief and emotional reunions, but it was also tinged with uncertainty. Each returnee will undergo medical examinations and reunite with their families, but the shadow of deportation looms large for many.
Reports from the ground reveal an atmosphere of celebration in Khan Younis but also highlight the confusion and distress faced by families receiving mixed messages about their loved ones’ futures. While some families are finally able to hold their relatives—often after years of waiting—other families remain anxious, grappling with the reality that their loved ones may not be returning to the homes they left.
Al Jazeera correspondent Tareq Abu Azzoum, reporting live from the scene, noted the palpable sense of joy mingled with the stark realities of life after release. The complexities of this ceasefire deal send ripples beyond the joyous reunions; they reflect the intricate web of negotiations, political calculations, and human emotions that characterize this ongoing conflict.
As the dust settles on this moment in Gaza, it remains clear that while these releases offer a moment of respite, the deeper issues at play continue to demand attention. The international community watches closely, hoping for sustained peace in a region long ravaged by violence and uncertainty. The hope is that this exchange can pave the way for more lasting solutions and recognition of the plight faced by both sides in one of the world’s most protracted conflicts.

So this is their "victory" if so let them enjoyed it the "protectors of gazans" 👏👏✌️
What the Israeli government did in Gaza was not a war — it was a deliberate massacre, a systematic destruction of a trapped population. With precision weapons, satellites, and drones, they targeted hospitals, schools, and shelters full of children. They knew exactly what they were doing.
Gaza was turned into a laboratory of human suffering: hunger used as a weapon, water polluted by rubble, hospitals in darkness, bodies buried under collapsed buildings. No nation that calls itself civilized can witness this and remain silent.
The Israeli government has lost all moral authority. It cannot speak of defense when over 80% of the victims were civilians. It cannot speak of peace while bulldozing Palestinian homes even on the day of their supposed liberation.
The world must stop feeding this machine of destruction with weapons, money, and silence. If the international community continues to look away, it becomes complicit in a tragedy that will stain human history forever.
War crimes are not forgotten. Gaza will stand as proof that power without conscience destroys the very idea of humanity itself.
😊😊😊👍👍
Just imagine how The president of the US has to step on BIbi's foot to let this ceasefire go tru
Clearly no starvation under indigenous Hebrew control … now freedom in the Judean Desert region for all the innocent

So happy to see the joy of the families of the Palestinian hostages being released.
So very sad for those not yet there.

Was it worth it?????

It
Worth
It????????!?!!!!
Hamas could have had all these prisoners of war released if they agreed to release the Israeli hostages. Hamas are to blame for all this chaos. Their leaders are billionaires. They don't live in Gaza, they live in luxury in places like Quatar. They spend all the donations for Gaza to build infrastructure and used it for war. Terror tunnels, weapons, not farms, schools and hospitals. Hamas messed up Gaza big time.
Alhumdulillah ya rab
May Allah bless the Palestinian
Once Israel gets the rest of their hostages a few days after that Trump and Bibi will drop the hammer on them 🔨 😂😂
Israele deve liberare tutti gli ostaggi , devono ricostruire Gaza ,devono essere processati per crimini contro l'umanità e giustizia sarà fatta ❤
Arm resistance against occupation and oppression isn’t a terrorism.
We have heard every threat and disappointing statements from Satanyahu and his supporters saying they gonna take over Gaza, but here is the result of their threat . They had no choice but to accept that they cannot take over a land with the strongest people on earth🎉
Excellent news !! What is happening with food distribution
Alhamdullilah. May you all only have happy days ahead filled with food, improved health, family, and good fortune! Sending love and continued prayers. I'm very happy you're free. Now better days are ahead!
Now, do something about the war in Ukraine and Russia 🙏
These people was falsely imprisoned many of them because Israel doesn't like the people there. Hope they rebuild their lives and also happy to see the Hostages was released and rejoin with their families.
Free Palestinian from Hamas
woe to those who go down to Egypt for help
Why does Al Jazeera never mention Marwan Barghouti? He is the only hope for real peace, and yet he is being marginalised by the media.
The mainstream media widely publicised the Israel hostages and how their families suffered and felt but said very little about the Palestinian hostages, whom they call prisoners, and who were tortured and sexually abused by Israeli guards. Double standards and hypocrisy of the main stream media once again.
