German Chancellor Olaf Scholz made a surprise visit to Kyiv, Ukraine on his second trip to the country since Russia’s full-scale invasion. The visit was met with mixed reactions, with many critics arguing that it was more symbolic than substantive.
During his brief visit, Chancellor Scholz held a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, where they discussed the ongoing conflict in eastern Ukraine and the need for continued support for Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression. However, critics pointed out that the meeting did not result in any concrete commitments or agreements.
Many skeptics believe that Chancellor Scholz’s visit was primarily aimed at showcasing Germany’s support for Ukraine and sending a message to Moscow rather than achieving any real diplomatic breakthroughs. They argue that without concrete actions, such as increased military assistance or sanctions against Russia, the visit was merely a symbolic gesture.
Despite the criticisms, some observers see Chancellor Scholz’s visit as a positive step in showing solidarity with Ukraine and standing up to Russian aggression. They argue that symbolic gestures can also play an important role in diplomatic efforts and sending a clear message to the Kremlin.
Overall, Chancellor Scholz’s visit to Kyiv was seen as a symbolic gesture of support for Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression. While some critics were disappointed by the lack of concrete outcomes, others saw it as an important step in demonstrating solidarity with Ukraine and sending a message to Moscow.

Ukraine was finished when the counter offensive failed now trump will give land to putin
I am so ashamed of my country for choosing fascism over democracy. Hang on, somehow Ukraine. We will come back to you. Slava Ukrania.
Angel of Peace…
This man is a conman pretending to be leader but in actuality he is a scarcity pants. Germans be smart don't re-elect him or his party.
Only when NATO will understand that they have to go in and liberate Ukraine, only then will the war end! Until then, Putin sees his chances of winning!
🙏🏻
The federal budget recorded a deficit of €40.0bn for the January–August 2024 period. The German government expects the economy to shrink for a second year running and has slashed its forecasts, Yet, it is financing the war in Ukraine against Russia.
More money to be thrown away on a useless war all for nothing. Ukraine doesn't have the manpower to win. More wasted money and weapons doesn't change that fact! Although it could prolong the death suffering and destruction. Thankfully soon Trump will put an end to this nonsense!
Ukraine once had a strong negotiating position. They got the Minsk Accords – what an awesome deal for them. Now Ukraine is defeated and in ruins. Whatever the final peace agreement is – it will be 100X worse that what they could have had if only they had opted to honor Minsk instead of opting to fight a proxy war in defense of Western Hegemony.
It only means election is coming..
France's budget deficit is slated to hit 6.1% of GDP in 2024, more than double the amount allowed by the European Commission. Yet, it is financing the war in Ukraine against Russia.
Scholz is a joke, this way Russia will win.
'I've done my bits, don't hunt me after you get clipped'😂
How can through weapons and negotiations when he has banned negotiations?complete nonsense
He's got protests in his own country, collapsed government coalition and economical problems. And instead of dealing with these problems he goes to Ukraine trying to escape all of this
Wow Ukraine is so good at sucking all the money away from Germany. No wonder all the Germans are losing their jobs and getting salary cuts like in the case of VW
Poor Zelenskij ….he must feel like 🤢🤮 listening to more blah blah blah
Dafür geh ich also arbeiten. Super.
He went there to ask for a job?
With American backing ….Of course
