Germany Records Hottest Day Ever as Europe Heat Wave Worsens
Germany has reached a staggering climatic milestone, reporting temperatures soaring above 41°C (105.8°F) as the country grapples with a relentless heat wave sweeping across Europe. This unprecedented heat marks the second consecutive day that Germany has shattered its all-time temperature record, igniting concerns over public health, infrastructure resilience, and water management.
In the heart of Berlin, DW correspondent Shristi Pal delivers an on-the-ground perspective of the situation, capturing the palpable tension as heat warnings loom large. While many residents seek refuge in shaded areas and air-conditioned spaces, a grim forecast suggests that even hotter weather is on the horizon.
As heat-related risks become more pronounced, vulnerable populations—including senior citizens and the unhoused—are feeling the brunt of the extreme temperatures. Emergency services are on high alert as authorities mobilize to provide aid to those most at risk. The increasing health risks associated with this unforgiving heat wave only amplify the urgency for governmental intervention and community support.
However, Germany’s response to such an extreme weather event raises pressing questions. Infrastructure, which was not designed to withstand these soaring temperatures, is grappling with water shortages and transport disruptions. Public transport systems have reported delays and cancellations, leading to mounting frustrations among commuters who are stuck in the sweltering heat.
As Europe faces this unyielding heat, discussions around climate adaptation are becoming increasingly urgent. Will Germany and other nations be able to implement the necessary changes to safeguard public well-being and infrastructure? Experts are calling for proactive measures to mitigate the effects of future heat waves and ensure that the country can respond effectively to this growing climate crisis.
This extreme weather event serves as a stark reminder of the pressing challenges posed by climate change. As Germany navigates the reality of its hottest days on record, the nation stands at a crossroads, facing the daunting task of adapting to a hotter future.

Hey Europe…next summer AC will be basic for survive…
If temperature recorded this week was higher than that in 1945, it shows that Russia-Ukraine war, Iran-US-Israel war and the genocide in Gaza are collectively producing more heat than WW2. Germany and NATO should speed up their war preparation against Russia, so that we can have higher summer temperatures in Germany. What a set of vampires we have as EU and NATO leaders!
We are lucky enough to have a gigantic linden facing our South oriented windows here in Berlin. It is an old tree, which has been unfortunately invaded by ivy, but that still blossoms and gives us shadow and fresh air. The owner of our building refuses to treat the ivy problem and wants to pull it down (along with a couple of neighbours who don’t like the leaves in autumn and the pollen in spring!). I cannot imagine how hot our flat would/will be without this amazing son of Nature.
Time for my Deutch loved ones invest in window air conditioner units!.
The government saying this isn’t a priority is f’d up and just goes to show how much the government continues to letdown the common people.
Evaporation, pour water on your head and neck and soak your hat too.
That's hot for Germany. I'm in Northern Virginia, USA, we're supposed to get to around 40C next week, but that's not unusual, and I have air conditioning….I just don't want to overwork the system at those temperatures, so I do set the temperature higher to keep it from running nonstop.
Why you speak German, oh men real
Hello again . Yes The weather is very hot during at these days . The weather is 43-45 C but feeling 53 C . Everyone shoud be carefully . Especially 12 p.m -5 p.m . I remember last year . There was no hot weather at last year .

Germans love to visit Death Valley, Death Valley came to them!
Now that climate change deniers have moved from denying climate change, they have went to next stage where they have declared "we can't do anything about it, so we must keep destroying nature".
Short news from the reality front: In contrast to the hysteria in the media, it is actually pretty okay. Without AC it's currently 28 in the flat here. I was outside for a bit. 38 degrees. Well, it's pretty warm but it doesn't feel like you're immediately dying. You shouldn't do much. Relax. Drink a bit. But it's not the end of the world if you act appropriately. And, just in case you're wondering: No, that doesn't mean climate change isn't bad. It is bad and we need to reduce CO2.
It's going to keep getting hotter and hotter 🔥. It's called climate change.
Compare to India, what makes it worse is that the houses and buildings are designed to keep the heat inside and the days are way too long. Irrespective of time of the year, in India sun rises and set between 6 in the morning to 6 in the evening. But in Germany during summers the sun rises very early and sets very late at 22:00 or even past 22:00. Thats makes it far less bearable.
Humanity is cooked…Sorry to be a pessimist…but I think we are!

Sooo what are we going to do about global warming
Be a nudist 😂
😂😂😂😂😂
Look at these Americans solving the issue in Germany with ACs. They cannot even find Germany on the world map! Let alone understand global warming, which everyone else has known for 50 years. Stupidity has no limits.
