In the animal kingdom, competition for territory and mates can be fierce, and the golden frogs are no exception. Despite their quiet calls, these amphibians have a clear message: stay out of my territory!
In a captivating video captured by BBC Earth, viewers witness the intense battles that golden frogs engage in to defend their territories against rivals. Using a combination of calls, waves, and even wrestling, these creatures fight for the chance to attract a mate and continue their lineage.
The footage, taken from the series “Life in Cold Blood” narrated by the legendary David Attenborough, provides a fascinating glimpse into the world of reptiles and amphibians. Contrary to popular belief, these cold-blooded creatures are shown to be just as dramatic, social, sophisticated, and passionate as their warm-blooded counterparts.
With over 50 years of natural history content, BBC Earth continues to showcase the beauty and wonder of the world around us. Through entertaining and thought-provoking documentaries, audiences are given a new perspective on the diversity of life on our planet.
So, next time you come across a golden frog in the wild, remember the battles they fight for territory and love. Just like us, they are driven by the instinct to survive and continue their legacy in the natural world.

This was the last time this species was filmed before the entire population was captured and placed in various zoos to save them from the advance of the invasive chytrid fungus. In fact they were capturing them WHILE filming this footage.
Seen some of their descendants at the Toronto Zoo, which breeds them in the hope they can be reintroduced to the wild someday.
It's like sumo match 😂

The time has come. Daniel, Wyoming has yet to give justice for Thea the wolf cub who had been brutally tortured by the monster known as Cody Roberts. Who was only given a slap on the wrist for his inhuman crimes. This cannot go on any longer. And since the law is allowing animal abusers to get away with their horrific acts, it is time that animal lovers take matters into our own hands. Turn your backs on Wyoming until they ensure that animal abusers are given proper punishments for their crimes. Demand to government officials that better animal protection laws be placed. Remember Thea and that her life mattered. We mustn’t allow anymore abusers get away with their horrific acts. Make a stand! Take action! Be a Wildlife Warrior!
