Hezbollah leader calls device attacks ‘a declaration of war’

Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah has condemned the recent device attacks in Lebanon as “war crimes or at least a declaration of war”, in a speech where he blamed Israel for the pager and walkie-talkie attacks. Nasrallah stated that about 4,000 pagers were targeted in the attacks, which he described as crossing all red lines.

Israel launched strikes in southern Lebanon following Nasrallah’s speech, however, they have not directly commented on the attacks. Israeli jets were reportedly heard flying at low altitude in Beirut during Nasrallah’s address, causing a significant amount of noise.

These attacks mark a dangerous escalation in tensions between Hezbollah and Israel, with Nasrallah calling them a blatant act of aggression. The situation remains volatile as both sides continue to exchange threats and accusations.
