A Burnaby homeowner has been in a year-long battle with UPS after a delivery truck damaged his driveway wall and left without notifying him. Despite having clear surveillance footage of the incident, Dom Sacco struggled to get reimbursement from the courier company. His numerous calls and emails went unanswered, leaving him frustrated and out of pocket for repairs.
After deciding to fix the damage himself, Sacco continued to await payment from UPS. It was only when Consumer Matters stepped in that the courier giant finally responded. UPS has since issued an apology for the delay, but questions still linger about why it took so long for them to address the issue.
This incident serves as a reminder of the challenges that homeowners can face when dealing with large corporations. It highlights the importance of consumer advocacy and the role that media outlets play in holding companies accountable for their actions. Let this be a lesson for both consumers and businesses alike to prioritize communication and resolution in cases of damage or dispute.

They didn’t expect him to pursue it and thought it would go away. Typical. Pony up UPS and hire qualified drivers not FOB.
Expect that for lost shipments, too. No payout if lost.😂😂😂
Isn't UPS an American company
Good thing he caught it on camera
2k!? Yeah right.
I dealt with UPS over tropical fish (some critically endangered species in the wild) that were supposed to arrive within 24hrs as per the shipping I had paid for. The driver claimed the business was closed at 2pm. Said business was a UPS drop location/Pharmachoice. The tropical fish arrived mostly dead 24hrs later after being left in the freezing cold temperatures for an additional 24hrs. They were packed in a styrofoam box with a heatpack still hot but the water was near freezing which shows the level of neglect. A manager from the USA called several days later and told me that live animals are shipped 'at my own risk' even though it costs extra for things like keeping them warm. He had a variety of excuses and kept going back to the drivers claim that the business was closed regardless how many times I repeated that 'it was not', 'it is a pharmacy', 'they don't even close for Christmas'. The company I bought the fish from promptly reimbursed me for the DOA's even though it was not their fault, but UPS never acknowledged any wrong-doing. They have a playbook of excuses. Nothing more.
That last level up should be taken away its asking for trouble and just high enought for problem … Would had save time and money
Jimmy Crack Corn…

Struggling to find a news story G.N?
that delay-delay-delay thing to see if the issue goes away… yeah…
2K for a couple of bricks😮
UPS are complete idiots when it comes to dealing with stuff like this even to make a complaint about a speeding driver takes three weeks😢
UPS sure knows how to rip consumers off on brokerage fees that Canada post does free.
$2000 lol, its like $50 worth of blocks
Gotta shame the company as they are hiding behind their own bureaucracy hoping the victim will go away, kind of like an insurance company.
power of media.. 😂😂
$2000.00? are those blocks made out of Gold?
That is spot on for UPS. Don’t do anything until their hand is forced. The apology is the exact same. Whether it’s injured employees or damaged property. The working conditions are far better even at Amazon than at UPS. Amazon just gets called out more.
Why would they even bother reimbursing you damage done to your property? They can't even bother to make an attempt to deliver your package to your doorstep. They stick a notice to your door and say that they've done their due diligence in "attempting" to deliver your package to you.
This service even costs more money than the USPS. 🇺🇲
