great film. thx
My grandma was born in 1048
You’re right, I checked on Google. The material dropped by German bombers was called both Chaff and Window. Thanks.
I was walking with my older sister when war was declared. We had just passed South Ruislip Station and she gave me the news..
Our entire family survived the war. Just me now.
This is so much better than anything that is made 'today'.
Thanks for the upload, I love this movie.
I saw this movie 36 years ago, in 1987, when I was 32 years old, and still remember it fondly (at age 68). I also feel lucky to have the soundtrack on CD.
IAN BANNEN 'GRANDPA'
What a Character 😂
Most Appreciate opportunity to watch this Classic again.
Most Entertaining 👌
Excellent film, I remember watching this at my Nan and Grandads on VHS as a kid.
Nan and Grandad would give me a running commentary on what it was like for them during the War 🙂 Thanks for the upload
Great movie!!!
I dream of an Earth without War.
i saw this film years ago… and enjoyed it immensely, but isn't that a Britains lead knight from the 1950's that the young boy is playing with at 3:20 for a few seconds?
Not worth watching
I was an extra on this film. Can't find me though. Maybe I ended up on the cutting room floor.
Excellent
❤thank you 🎬📺
wow
Picking shrapnel from the streets, thats exactly what my grandmother said her brother and his friends did after air raids.
Good film thanks for sharing. David Hayman is a great guy met him once at a party 🦋💫
Oh my life!!! 🥰 I so enjoyed this film!!! Light hearted and cheery… but a realistic genuine look at life in the war years!!! ❤️
When Dawn is giving birth someone says, "Call the doctor." They would be calling the midwife, not a doctor. All of my six younger siblings were born at home, even in the early to mid 60s.
Not a bad movie overall though.
That one scene made this movie garbage, real putrid.
One of my favourite films. So full of life, so cheerful, full of rich little loving portraits. A sunny but honest view of the whole human experience, perfectly articulated. Magic
1987 – Great movie about a young Londoner during WW II. Thank you.
Great film if you can endure "cleaner" movies without all the typical modern ignorance we are so use to. I wouldn't let kids watch it for language and some sexual encounters. Thank you for putting the film up for us..
Very entertaining movie. Thanks for the upload.
Summary of one of Winston Churchill’s inspiring speeches when the chips were down..
“We shall fight on the seas and oceans. We shall fight with glowing confidence and strength in the air, we shall defend our island whatever the cost may be. We shall fight on the beaches. We shall fight on the landing grounds and in the fields and in the streets. We shall fight in the hills. WE SHALL NEVER SURRENDER”
What appalling acting worthy of Australian, American or Canadian TV. A shit unrealistic dialogue and characters. If people had been this dumb the Japanese and Germans would have succeeded.
There was pre six o'clock children's tv that was better than this.
Why the American music and dancing before the Yanks entered the war in 41?
No wartime accounts of kids behaving as badly as these.
Ten seconds in and nonsensical bullshit. No children would behave like that anywhere in the 30s and 40s certainly not in a cinema.
Saw it at the time too — still a must-see. I definitely love it.
I remember seeing this film in the theaters way back when. It was a really good film.
A fresh take on a WW2 movie from a neglected point of view. The wonderful incidental music is always on point except when it's intentionally off point for ambivalence.
Seems all I have to do is think of a movie I haven't seen in a while and want to see it again, within 2 days it pops up. Weird, creepy, concerning. Wonderful movie, doesn't have the same punch as the first viewing but still a top notch movie.
I’ve been waiting and hoping for this. Thank-you!
What a superb film.
Thanks for the post.
Terrific–TY
