Tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan have been on the rise, with recent incidents of cross-border violence further exacerbating the strained relationship between the two countries. The Afghan Defence Ministry has confirmed that they have conducted several strikes in Pakistan in retaliation for an attack that took place last week. Pakistan, on the other hand, has stated that their strikes were aimed at targeting armed groups along the border, claiming that attacks on their territory have been launched from Afghan soil.
The back and forth accusations from both sides have raised concerns about the potential escalation of border tensions. The denial of involvement by Taliban officials in Kabul has added another layer of complexity to the situation, leaving many wondering about the future of relations between the two nations.
With 300 million people on both sides of the border caught in the crossfire, the impact of the escalating tensions is significant. The question remains – how will this ongoing conflict be resolved, and what will be the consequences for the people living in these border areas?
Guests on the Inside Story program, including former government officials, academics, and journalists, discussed the implications of the recent events and the broader context of the strained Pakistan-Afghanistan relationship. As the situation continues to unfold, it is crucial for both countries to find a peaceful resolution to prevent further harm to their citizens and to promote stability in the region.

Afghanistan's instability has long been a source of tension for both Pakistan and Iran. Pakistan has historically had deep ties with the Taliban, while Iran has supported different factions in Afghanistan. The U.S. leaving military equipment behind may have exacerbated security concerns for both countries, especially as the Taliban regained power and extremist groups like ISIS-K began operating in the region. However, the idea that the U.S. would deliberately leave equipment to destabilize these countries doesn't hold up when you consider the broader context of the withdrawal and the actual military objectives.
Thambnail is bad a lots of pictures Taliban's Army's
The US-Backed regime of Pakistan previously committed a Genocide against Bangladesh and for 20 years, has assisted the US in bombing Afghanistan. People say the Pakistan has backed the Taliban, but this is incorrect. It was the Pashtun families in Pakistan that did that. The government of Pakistan has always worked to keep Afghanistan weak and broken. You'll note that much of the US-backed Regime in Afghanistan was producing massive amounts of drugs, that Pakistani officials took bribes from… and that all was destroyed by the Taliban government.
We much help Afghanistan people. But they are not honest .they send terrist to Pakistan
Because pakistan stole parts of our land with the help of British Colonialists, and we want it back.

Without approval from the Security Council, these military operations should not occur.
Afghans are killed for more than 55 years by Pakistani government the same way that Palestinians are killed by Israelis 😭😡
Whole Staff of "Al Jazeera English" should learn that around 586 BC, Babylonian Emperor Nebuchadnezzar took from 12; ten tribes of Bani-Israel into captivity, and much later he deported them to that Eastern land which is called today Afghanistan. So trouble-creating is built in DNA of these people. They are lost tribes of Bani-Israel

Pakistan should start talking to Northern Alliance to get rid of Taliban. Also when it comes to Durand line, why dont Afghanies talk about Wakhan which is part of GB and needs to be returned to Pakistan. 3rd, What about 8 Milllion Afghanies living in Pakistan? TTA should swap 50K Pakistanies with 8M Afghanies. We have no issue. The fact of the matter is that Afghanistan is nothing but a global Migrane and the only solution to this to divide them in 3
