Inside The $6 Billion U.S. Ammo Surge to Arm Ukraine
In a pivotal moment in the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia, American factories are ramping up production of 155 mm artillery shells—one of the most crucial weapons in Ukraine’s arsenal. As the war drags on, the urgency for these munitions has reached unprecedented levels, with Ukraine reportedly firing thousands of rounds each day. The need for artillery has become increasingly clear, even as both sides embrace newer technologies like drones and precision missiles.
At a manufacturing facility in Scranton, Pennsylvania, the atmosphere is charged with a sense of purpose as workers transform steel into the vital rounds necessary for Ukraine’s defense. The U.S. government has recognized this essential need and approved a substantial $6 billion budget for 2024 aimed at further increasing production capacity. To meet this demand, five new factories have been established, reflecting a strategic commitment to bolster not just Ukraine’s military efforts, but also to replenish U.S. stockpiles.
However, the landscape is daunting. Reports indicate that Russia has been outproducing Western nations by nearly three to one in terms of artillery munition output. This raises significant questions about the U.S.’s ability to keep up with the rapidly changing dynamics of the battlefield. Can America sustain its support for Ukraine while ensuring its own military readiness? The complex balance of arming an ally while rebuilding domestic stockpiles poses a logistical and strategic challenge that military and political leaders must navigate carefully.
The video dives deeper into the significance of the 155 mm shells and examines how these artillery rounds have become indispensable in the current phase of warfare. Historical context is provided, tracing the evolution of the 155 mm artillery shell and how these munitions have been integral to global military practices over the years.
Additional insights reveal the scale of ammunition consumption within Ukraine; the sheer volume underscores the critical role that U.S. support plays in sustaining Ukrainian forces. Compounding the complexity of munitions supply is the ongoing use of cluster bombs by the U.S., even amidst a broader shortage of conventional munitions. This decision has sparked debates regarding ethics and efficacy in modern warfare, showcasing the intricate balancing act of military strategy.
As the video wraps up, it poses a thought-provoking question: how will the U.S. continue to support Ukraine while maintaining its military readiness, all in a landscape characterized by evolving technologies and shifting tactical priorities? The stakes are high, and the ramifications of these decisions will likely reverberate far beyond the battlefield.

I'm so sick of funneling resources to other countries. There's no way they're winning the war. They're outnumbered in so many ways.
"I'm gonna go get the papers, get the papers."
So Scranton is not just about selling paper.
Bots are going hard in here
Only if they pay for it… great show of solidarity from the U.S there.
Ukraine is going to lose. It always was. 100,000's of young men killed for a lost cause.
Why do we have to supply them anything in the first place!
🇺🇸🤝 🇷🇺 🤝 🇺🇦
Is @Joshuapaul2022 a Republican magat?
China mainly uses NATO calibre for their artillery.
Need to open a few more factories tbh to have enough for yaself would only take a country to bomb that factoy America would be in bad shape
We should do everything in our power to support Ukraine. The more, the better. Stay strong my friends
can you imagine dwight going around the factory saying "today smoking is gonna save lives"
And they want us to drive electric to save the environment😂sure sure.
I’m a big fan of your videos. However, why do you insist on exposing our country’s vulnerabilities? This and your video on cannon barrels informs our enemies, “hey, we only have one factory making these crucial defense weapons” and they are located in the city of XYZ, in the state of XX. Oh, by the way, here are the employee names so you can easily find them on social media and the web. This way you can target them and or their families for bribery, blackmail and or coercion. Could our enemies find out this information on their own? Probably, but we shouldn’t make it easier for them. I appreciate the videos and their quality but we are living in very uncertain times and have threats coming from every direction.
Basically, America want the war, so they can make profit, while still maintaining the influence, without using their own life.
America 1st!!
i$rael needs to keep out of U.S. taxpayers pockets. They have gotten over a quarter TRILLION dollars from the U.S.

USA making money 💰.. UKRAIN Russia fighting each other… GREAT IDEA 💡😅😅

As a single country 4:46 not compared to the European union or based on gdp
not even remotely close
why people feel like ukraine needs more ammo? ukraine lost 30k men but destroyed 1 million russians, which is more than the ground force of UK France and Germany combined, Russia is losing so badly and soon there will be a revolution to overthrow Putin thats why Putin is begging for cease fire and peace talk, get your facts right you Russian propagandists. Sava Ukraine, Ukraine is winning. hashtag IStandWithUkraine
8:02 I think Ukraine is a lost cause. I say this only because they been fight there long as I been alive. Why would Russia stop, they are clearly upgrading and learning with the experience, European nations need to wake up, relying on USA to be the world police was a horrible mistake. Our economy is fucked up, the military is one of the only places people are lining up to join for the economic security, but yet china, North Korea and Russia are shaking hands, and out president is deploying troops in our cities 😂. And we are talking about a shortage for Ukraine, the country that is never gonna stop getting invaded 😂. This world is jokes…
I'm a Rothbardian but something about shell manufacturing makes me feel something.
