The ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran in the Middle East shows no signs of a strategic political endgame as Israel continues to seek to extinguish what they refer to as Iran’s “ring of fire”. Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant declared on Tuesday that Hezbollah, a key Iranian-backed militia, had been severely weakened through repeated strikes and the killing of its leader, Hassan Nasrallah.
The situation in the region is complex, with Israel facing threats from multiple fronts. To gain a deeper understanding of the escalating tensions, FRANCE 24’s Eve Irvine discussed the issue with Yossi Mekelberg, an Associate Fellow in the Middle East and North Africa Programme at Chatham House in London.
The conflict between Israel and Iran has been ongoing for years, with both countries engaging in proxy wars through various militias and groups in the region. The recent escalation in violence has raised concerns about the potential for a wider conflict that could further destabilize the already volatile Middle East.
As Israel continues its efforts to weaken Iran’s influence in the region, the situation remains tense and unpredictable. With no clear endgame in sight, the region remains a hotspot for potential conflict and instability. It is crucial for all parties involved to find a peaceful resolution to the ongoing tensions in order to prevent further bloodshed and destruction.

I STAND WITH ISRAEL.
… thousands of children !
Iran's foreign minister confirmed tests. It's game over.
Why is it that you bring up the civilian casualties of this war with the implication that if Israelis were decent people they would be opposed to the war? Don't you think that a people has the right to defend itself? Do you think that a military force that hides behind civilians should thereby gain a free pass to attack another civilian population without consequence. This is not a standard you would hold to if you were under attack. Hypocrisy is rank in the West.
Israel is not playing politics, it is prioritizing life now over politics and prioritizing the survival and well-being of its citizens.
French your wrong
Keeping Netayahu out of Jail and in office seems to be the only strategy.
Everyone "wonders" what Israel's endgame is? And I wonder what the "internationally recognized" borders will be in the end?🤔
We will defend Israel come what may.we will pray for the people of Israel come what may.

Israel&USA United!
Is Lebanon still firing rockets and missles into Israel targeting the civilian population?
"the way Israel conducts" does NOT cause civilian casualties. The way the proxies hide there man and fire power behind civilians does. Stop the BS.
Israel is an apartheid
Israel must be charged with war crimes
