In this exciting video, the Wynns reflect on their extensive boat tours, sharing valuable insights and “aha” moments that challenged their preconceptions about life at sea. They emphasize the importance of finding a vessel that meets their adventurous spirit—one capable of traversing icy fjords, self-sufficient enough for remote getaways, yet manageable for just the two of them.
Among their takeaways, the couple reveals their journey of self-discovery as “boat people,” embracing the beauty of sailing and the encounters that come with it. They’ve realized that whether a boat is big or small, what truly matters is how well it fits their future adventures, including their dream of navigating from Alaska to Patagonia.
Expect to learn about the technical aspects of yacht selection, such as the essential features for reliability and efficiency, aided by their real-world experiences on various vessels. With plenty of sailing jargon and insights shared, this video is not just for sailing enthusiasts but for anyone curious about alternative living and the wonders of exploration.

Remember the TWO FOOT BOATER! (No matter the size, you will always want Two Feet More). Good research for buying a boat. I did the same kind of research back in the '90s trying to buy the best, most powerful, most capable computer. Took six months to decide between a 286 and a 386 processor, then along came Pentium. I wish you Smooth Sailing!
Reliability, safety and easy to maintain, will give peace of mind! A steel hull skeg explorer will be a tank on water, probably equipped using a good technology, will give you less maintenance and save you money. Today technology is amazing for explorer boats, take advantage of them. Good luck and enjoy your new boat.
Couldn’t come fast enough, feels like 6 years
We are really looking forward to the next adventure. Thanks
Twelve foot aluminum tender front partial cover closed bow LUND boats amazing
FINALLY, THE WYNN'S are going back to the SEA. Aye, my pirate patched eye and my pegged leg both twitch with excitement. Soon we will journey again through calm seas and venture in lands to gain knowledge and experience. Mahalo (My wife and I wait with anticipation).
Can't wait to see what they choose although I think we can guess. This is going to be fun.
Won't be watching with you swearing.
How exciting, I like the saying in the beginning, you don't even know yet what you don't know! Well, now you definitely know what questions to be asking, and you've got some solid information to work from. Its like we get to see your homework, how you got to where you are now in the process. Adventures AND Expeditions await!
I've subbed again. This Texan doesn't like over-produced videos which yours were. Giving it a try 'cause I love adventure! Thanks.
Done that same change 3 years ago. For me a Nordhaven was a no coz of asymetric setup (I need to moore both sides eaually easy) and I wanted speed when needed so ended up buying a semi displacement. Never looked back and now convinced the significant other to do a trip up Scandinavia.
Good luck with the offer hope all goes well
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
How much are those boats?
So excited to see this all pan out for you two! BUT after that bug flew down Jason's shirt I couldn't stop cringing and need to know what happened?! Likely nothing?? But I kept waiting to see it come back OUT! 🤣😂😜EEK!
Victoria and Rico are probably jumping for joy for you all, as are we. You all have built up a wealth of resources meeting all of these boat owners, including NautiStyles to guide you. I suspect they have a boat (or two) already picked out that they are about to make an offer on, if you listen to their words carefully toward the end. Pending of course a Very careful detailed inspection. They will not buy a lemon again…. Best of luck!!…
My guess is that nice Northern Marine 57 “Nomad” for sale at Nordhavn. Nice size and hydraulic thrusters. Like a small version of Galivant you liked and it’s already in PNW.
Good luck and I hope to hear good news and new adventures.
To throw a wild card in the mix, there’s a seahorse 52 in the Baltimore area, under $400k, that has me looking into them, only issues I have with that boat are these, single gen set, no stern thruster/ remote for docking, and no stabilizers, but depending on budgeting scenarios, those items could be covered in your budget. Just food for thought, but also if you’re in the Seattle area, trawlers/cruisers area a hell of a lot more popular and cheaper over there.🤷♂️
Here’s to hoping you get whatever you two are looking for, none the less.
Wishing you both all the best in your decision. I am a huge Nordhavn fan but that is simply me. Look forward to your decision that fits you best. I am sure you are aware of the Nordhavn Atlantic crossing back in 20023? or 2004 ? Great video on youtube.
Man oh man! For so many years I’ve followed your journeys and I’m SOOOO excited for you guys! (My wife and I’d dream boat is a Nordhavn 43, so you can see why I’m so excited for you guys!)
Seriously tho, good luck and enjoy every minute of it! Yal are living the life!
Super excited for you guys! Can’t wait to see what you choose and the adventures that follow! Good luck with your purchase!
Well reasoned and presented summary! I am looking forward to your future adventures where ever they may lead you.
I hope you go for a 60 , it will handle the rougher sea better. Electronics are sensitive to emps, lightning. Having a bigger tender will be safer.
Maximum tease, but I’m anxious and excited for you 😂🤗
Are you kidding me 7 gallon per hour, and you call that efficient.
I'm unsubscribing I like my planet that's why I sail. If you want to rape this planet and call it "exploring" you can do it without my views.
57 ft Nordhaven is my vote
I have been watching your channel since you were RV-ing. And I love how you two treat life as an open minded adventure together!!
I'm excited to see the Wynn's next boat. I'm about 20 years away from retirement, but I entertain myself by dreaming. I don't think I could handle much more than a 60ft boat, so in my mind… If I was looking for slow going long range, long passages, I like that Northern Marine 57 (little sister to the Gallavant type boat they were on). Or I could give up the extreme range the Kadey Krogan 50 or 52 with the twin engines which have about a 4 1/2 foot draft, which opens up more spots. Going smaller Nordhavn just announced a new 46 mk 2 which I already like more than the sorta cramped nordhavn 41. If I just commited to coastal crusing, the Fleming 58 is my dream boat (plus who doesn't want more speed). If I was just doing the loop, I like that that little American Tug 365/395 just so I could fit in all the marinas I'd like to visit easier. Its more fun window shopping for boats than it is for watches or turntables lol.
Hi, in my new setup a motor yacht can reduce its fuel use by 95%, making it more efficient then a sailboat. Let me know if interested.
🍀⚓️ you’re perfectly right summer is gone. Whatever decision you make we know that it will be perfect for you so sailors I’m really really waiting for this decision. I can’t wait to see what you guys are going to do. Let’s go.🍀✌️🐳⚓️
Love the new haircut Jason! Also, we were happy you got the dishwasher. Team Jason all the way!
I would really enjoy you guys getting something similar to the Galivant, the Northern Marine 64. What adventures you could have!!
You could spent the next 10 years boating between Seattle and Alaska and never see it all.
🍀🍀 I know a lot of our prayers are out for Jamaica right now such a large hurricane🍀🍀
Alaska to Patagonia sounds amazing. I would be amazed if Nordhavn didn’t offer you a deal….
It’s not so much about the vessel, it’s the journey.
I can't wait, my fingers are crossed as well, I can't but get excited for you both and see what the next phase of life you will have. I hope you get what you want😊
When in one’s journey of living onboard your own boat do you say, the Med or the Caribbean is just not doing it for me and I want to explore more of the world? Is it a natural evolution? Should I just go to the explorer yacht too? I am loving your thought process and enjoying your journey. This was one of my favorite videos of yours.
This is going to be so much fun. Whats missing bc it not a sailing vessel… 60-90 seconds of footage of pulling and winching lines? You guys working with a kite would be far more interesting. And really, I'm here for your marine adventuring, tho far less for how you get there. Praying for a positive outcome for your offer.
great video thanks
Can't wait to hear what you end up with…
If you haven't looked at it yet check out a stabicraft 1550 offshore for a tender. It's a little smaller than the 2 you have seen already but still has a full canvas top and extremely stable and well built much like a go anywhere yacht it's a go anywhere in any sea state tender.
Great haircut Jason. Good luck guys
That is SOME haircut! Aerodynamic!
Almost every sailor eventually moves to a trawler or tug as they age. I went from a beloved Hunter 326 to a Nordic Tug 37. It’s been a great. I look forward to your decision. Those Nordhavn boats look spectacular.
Just glad Jason got a haircut.
great channel … good that You try something different!
I like that haircut Jason, It looks good brother.
It's hard to believe it's only been six months since we started this journey. Because six months ago all we knew is that we needed to do something different, go somewhere new, challenge ourselves with something we had never done before. And we thought that would take a lot more time to figure out. But, thanks to the support and knowledge you have all shared, we're feeling very excited about our next adventure. We're also thankful to have the support and security of our friends at Surfshark🦈Go to https://surfshark.com/wynns or use code WYNNS at checkout to get 4 extra months of Surfshark VPN!
