In a powerful and emotional exclusive interview with Entertainment Tonight, Jax Taylor bares his soul as he opens up about his deeply personal struggles with addiction, his son’s autism, and the loss of his late father. The former ‘Vanderpump Rules’ star sits down with ET’s Brice Sander to discuss his 20-year battle with cocaine addiction, revealing that he has been to rehab twice and is now focused on managing his sobriety out of treatment.
As Jax reflects on the impact of his addiction on his life and relationships, he takes ownership for the hurt he caused his soon-to-be ex-wife, Brittany Cartwright. The couple, who share a nearly 4-year-old son named Cruz, are navigating co-parenting as they come to terms with their new normal. Jax bravely shares the challenges and triumphs of raising a child with autism, shedding light on the importance of understanding and compassion for families facing similar struggles.
The most heart-wrenching moment of the interview comes when Jax talks about his late father, whom he describes as his rock and source of unconditional love. As tears fill his eyes, Jax reflects on how much he misses his father’s presence in his life, especially during this difficult time. Despite the pain of his father’s passing, Jax remains determined to honor his memory and continue on his journey towards healing and self-discovery.

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life (present), and shall not come into judgment (future), but has passed from death into life (past).” There are 66 books total. Please read John, Romans, 1 John, and Revelation. Use an accurate translation like the KJV, NKJV, or NASB. The only thing we have to do to be saved is believe in Him.
Love him or hate him, gotta respect his honesty and courage to open up about addiction. Hope he finds peace.
This explains a lot…. I wish Jax the best. 🥹
I actually believe him. I hope so…for his son!
Jax doesn't have a good relationship with his mother & his father passed away without him having a chance to say goodbye:( . Please get therapy 🙏 Jax so u can be a great father👨👦💕
I will always like Jax . He is handsome and real .
Honestly this is how real men should act. Own up to things , admit , and learn from it. Jax is on his way. Mental health does matter .
Aww I hope he heals 😢
Ohh poor poor babyman
He steals sunglasses 😎
His PR team is prob exhausted 🎻
Oh man. Lord—I really wish I could like this guy, but I’ve just seen WAY too many years of his “I’m a work in progress” and “I’m in therapy so I’m a better guy now” and “I’ve been diagnosed with (fill in the blank here: depression; bipolar; OCD) and being treated for it/them so it’s all good now!” nonsense. It’s all just a load of BS.
I just don’t have the ability to take him seriously anymore. I hope—REALLY DO HOPE—that I’m wrong and he actually does the work he needs to do to make whatever amends with his family (etc.) that he needs & be a great dad now. But I’d be totally lying if I said it sounds like he’s changed now. Not enough tears in the world, Jax.
His face looks like it's in pain…
Jax: “Yeah, I’ve hurt her (Brittany). I’ve hurt her a LOT, and I’ve done a lot of damage.”
(Interviewer) Brice: “And you’ve said all of this to her at this point? You’ve owned it—to her face—that you’ve hurt her?”
Jax: NODS ANGELICALLY; WIPES AWAY TEAR
Geez. Come on now.
I hate to burst his little halo bubble, but that is NOT quite how Brittany describes it, lol. According to her, Jax has owned up to absolutely nothing and has apologized to her for…wait for it…NOTHING 🤔😆
Edit: omg, and then Jax has the audacity to insinuate that Brittany is an addict as well…??
“You know, SHE’s got issues too…I know mine are being highlighted right now, but when she’s ready to talk about her ‘stuff’, she will. It’s not my place to ah, talk about her. Yeah, you know, just yeah—believe me.”
Uh-huh. Yep, Jax just had to throw that little dig in there. (Shocker!)
