In this mouth-watering recipe video, Chef Jeff Mauro takes us on a culinary journey to his hometown of Chicago with his delicious Chicago-Style Steak Burrito. This burrito is a childhood favorite from the windy city, made with quality steak, and the unique twist of omitting rice and beans, while adding a duality of salsas for extra flavor.
To start off, Chef Jeff prepares a vibrant salsa verde by charring tomatillos, garlic, ancho chile, poblano chile, and onion on a grill pan. These charred vegetables are then blended with cilantro, agave, tomatoes, and lime juice to create a flavorful and slightly spicy salsa verde.
Next, the star of the show – the skirt steak – is coated in Mexican-style seasoning and grilled to perfection. Once charred on both sides, the steak is chopped into small pieces and mixed with any accumulated juices for added flavor.
To assemble the burrito, Chef Jeff spreads sour cream on a jumbo flour tortilla and layers on shaved iceberg lettuce, diced tomatoes, thinly-sliced avocado, and shredded Chihuahua or Oaxacan cheese. The chopped skirt steak is placed on top of the cheese before the burrito is rolled up and grilled on a flat griddle until golden and crispy.
Finally, the Chicago-Style Steak Burrito is served with the salsa verde and fire-roasted red salsa on the side for a burst of freshness and heat. This recipe is perfect for those looking to enjoy a delicious and unique burrito experience at home.

So delicious!!!😊
Recipe of Jeffry cocktail?
Making me hungry.👍🇨🇱
Haven't had one in quite some time but I do know they're wonderful but very filling. I liked the carne asada best, and yes, beans were fine by me. Rice made it too heavy for digestion though.
I'm sorry, but that steak looks burnt to me.
🤦♀️🤣🤣🤣HE FORGOT TO WARM THE FLOUR TORTILLA
🤤🤤🤤🤤 Saved in my recipe file. Will definitely be trying this. The only thing is, I'll probably cook the steak a little more.

I lived in Chicago for 70 years and I do miss the fabulous food. Truthfully as horrible as Chicago has gotten that is all they have left to offer is their food.

It goes directly to cook next list 🤣
Most people don't know that ( skirt steak) is the diaphragm muscle.
