Genç HÜRKUŞ Gençlerimizle-Türkiye’nin İlk Deneysel Test Pilotunun Meslek Yaşamından Kesitler Murat Özpala, 1971 yılında İzmir’de doğmuştur. 1989 yılında ilk yalnız uçuşunu gerçekleştirmiş, ardından Türk Hava Kuvvetleri’nde savaş ve öğretmen pilot olarak görev almıştır. 2006’dan itibaren HÜRKUŞ Projesi’nde görev yapmış; 2010 yılında TUSAŞ’a katılarak milli hava aracı projelerinde çalışmaya başlamıştır.
2012’de Kanada’daki International Test Pilots School’da eğitim alarak Türkiye’nin ilk deneysel test pilotu olmuştur. HÜRKUŞ’un ilk uçuşu dahil 2500 saati aşkın deneysel test uçuşu ve 200’den fazla akrobasi gösterisi gerçekleştirmiştir. 30’dan fazla farklı uçak tipinde toplam 6000 saatten fazla uçuş tecrübesine sahiptir.
Society of Experimental Test Pilots ve Society of Flight Test Engineers üyesi olan Özpala, dört çocuk babasıdır. “Tayyareciliğin Kitabı” ve “Hakk’ın Muradı” adlı kitap çalışmaları devam etmektedir. Havacılık ve yaşam üzerine paylaşımlarını LinkedIn ve Instagram (@muratozpala_) hesaplarından sürdürmektedir.
