A Kia car owner recently shared her frustration after being dismissed by the automaker over an oil consumption issue that has now resulted in her needing a new engine. The owner alleges that she was left stranded at the side of the road due to the issue, prompting her to seek assistance from Consumer Matters. Despite initially being ignored by Kia, the owner’s plight gained attention after Consumer Matters intervened on her behalf.
The owner’s ordeal highlights the challenges that some car owners face when dealing with manufacturers over vehicle issues. In this case, the owner claims to have experienced significant inconvenience and financial burden as a result of the oil consumption issue that led to the need for a new engine. It serves as a reminder of the importance of holding automakers accountable for addressing problems that can impact the safety and functionality of their vehicles.
For the Kia car owner, the experience of being dismissed by the manufacturer underscores the need for consumers to advocate for themselves and seek assistance when faced with challenges that are not being adequately addressed. The intervention of Consumer Matters in this case demonstrates the power of consumer advocacy in ensuring that car owners are treated fairly and receive the support they need when dealing with issues related to their vehicles.
As the Kia car owner now faces the task of replacing her engine, it serves as a cautionary tale for other car owners to be vigilant about monitoring their vehicles for any signs of trouble and to take action promptly if problems arise. Ultimately, the owner’s story serves as a reminder of the importance of standing up for consumer rights and holding automakers accountable for providing quality products and addressing issues in a timely and effective manner.

When you are cheap and going for a Kia😅
Kia offers a great warranty on paper but they do not honor it unless you contact media for help.
Canada needs lemon laws.
It is a disposable brand car name cars
Kia is killing it in the car market with their sales with:
*oil consumption issies
*engine faults/fire
*poor customer service
*terrible car security.. like the popular kiaboy incidents
*any other extra added features i have forgotten.
Now who else wants to buy a kia?
This is not only Kia problem anymore. Even Toyota has similar problem.
Simple, don't buy Kia and Hyundai. El cheapo cars.
Accountability has lost all meaning.
Along with higher education and morals.
Kia has had engine problems for years. Our kia’s engine blew, and it took them more than 1/2 a year to replace it. Turns out we were 10th or 11th in line for an engine swap, & the factory was behind in sending replacements. She better make sure they give her a loaner or supply a rental.
Applewood 😑
Breaking news..Israel attack china container ship..
good to know to stay away from kia
South Korean cars are not good. KIAs are also very susceptible to theft because it's so easy to hotwire it.
Kia very disappointing especially given she brought the extended warranty.
They should have done the oil consumption test when she asked for one.
Good news at least Kia replaced the engine.
KIA is an acronym for Killed In Action
Take note. ALL KIA AND Hyundai owners. Do some research before buying one othese POS's ………. Also make sure it's not a rebuilt engine, Demand a brand new engine.
Don't buy a Kia.
Unfortunately the new engine will experience the same oil issue after a couple of years. . . sell that car immediately after the new engine is installed!!
This ain’t the 1980s. Cars don’t consume large amounts of oil. Would like to see her maintenance records or lack there of.
This is why I would never buy Kia, instead get a good brand like Honda
😂 dont act like this is a new thing 3 years? Did you use high quantity oil? Synthetic?
My buddy just got the motor changed on his 2.0t. There was a recall for metal shavings inside the motor. I’m more worried and the kia’s and hyundai’s that randomly catch fire..
My mother had to fight with Kia to get a new motor then she got into a car accident and her insurance wrote it off and gave her six grand. It had a cracked front bumper. Hood closed and lights still intact.
