The ongoing local elections in the contested province of Jammu and Kashmir have sparked significant interest and debate, as separatist groups have decided to turn to mainstream politics and participate in the democratic process.
The second phase of the election, which aims to renew the 90 seats in the region, has seen a notable shift in the political landscape as separatist leaders have chosen to contest the polls. This marks a significant departure from their previous stance of boycotting elections and advocating for independence from India.
The decision to participate in the electoral process comes amidst increasing pressure on separatist groups, as well as a desire to gain a stronger foothold in mainstream politics. It also reflects a growing recognition of the importance of engaging with the democratic system in order to address the needs and concerns of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
While the move has been met with mixed reactions, with some praising the shift towards mainstream politics as a step towards reconciliation and stability, others have expressed skepticism about the motives behind the decision. Critics argue that participating in elections does not necessarily equate to a genuine commitment to resolving the longstanding issues in the region, and that true progress can only be achieved through meaningful dialogue and compromise.
As voting continues in Jammu and Kashmir, the outcome of the elections will undoubtedly have far-reaching implications for the future of the region. The decision of separatist groups to enter mainstream politics marks a significant development in the complex and often contentious relationship between India and Kashmir, and will likely shape the political landscape for years to come.

Zombie spread fast 😂
That's how it's done. Separatists given chance to prove which one they get elected will fail, and then become mainstream.
Unlike in Pakistan, where the guy who wins majority ends up in jail.
And guess what, West loves and adores Pakistan 😂😂😂😂
And complains why India doesn't break it's tie with Russia.
Muslims support Muslims. Look at anywhere around the world. Thanks to Government decision that it is no longer Jammu & Kashmir. The regions of Jammu/Udhampur (Hindu majority) and Leh/Ladakh (Buddhist majority) are relatively at peace. Srinagar in Kashmir is Muslim majority is full of radicalism and problems. India's only Muslim majority is full of problems as the other failed Muslim countries in Middle East.
