Journey Through Shadows: Riding Along the Afghanistan Border
As the sun rises over the breathtaking landscapes of the Kalash Valley, a sense of anticipation fills the air. In this captivating episode of Alongside the Afghanistan Border, we embark on a thrilling ride from the enchanting hills of Kalash towards the bustling city of Peshawar, Pakistan—a path that demands not just an adventurous spirit but also a police escort due to its proximity to the Afghan frontier.
Navigating this striking terrain is not just about the stunning vistas; it’s a journey steeped in the realities of border dynamics. Here, traveling without the protection of a police escort is not an option; it’s a precaution forged in the fire of past conflicts and ongoing tensions. Accompanied by highly trained anti-terrorism units, the escorts assure swift and efficient travel, providing a layer of safety as the picturesque mountains fade into the horizon.
Yet, as we edge closer to Peshawar, a palpable tension arises. The escorts shorten, prompting concerns about reaching our destination before darkness falls. Will the beauty of this landscape translate to assurance, or will the shadows of uncertainty close in? Join us as we delve into this compelling journey, exploring not just the scenic routes, but also the intricate layers of security and experience that define the region.
This episode promises adventure, reflection, and a deeper understanding of the land where cultures and histories intersect. Buckle up for an unforgettable ride along the edge of beauty and caution!

Question for you , Why don't you say what day it is at the beginning like today is Monday September 30th and then your last cation. I think it would add another element to your viewers as to exactly where you in your journey, safe travels

You are so brave. Your videos are so interesting. I wish you the best always.
Hi Noraly,
The tranquility of the mountains is definitely behind us!
Just one question, so many bodyguards (I think there were a total of 9 in the video), is this for SAFETY or because they don't trust you personally???
Good luck and take care of yourself!!!
Whew! You have the patience of a saint and the skills of a diplomat. You always show each country in their best light despite any hardship that comes your way. Rock star!
Did you pay for the security escort?
this is the best ride you will ever had – with police escort…. in other parts of the world police escort is only fotr the VIPs.
Great video Noraly
Low clouds hugging mountains are my spirit animal. Thanks for another great video.
Omgosh…how can you look around so confidently and even pass a car on that gravel road. I'd have my eyes glued to the road! Your driving is amazing!
I think that's the first episode where I didn't say I wish I was there
Sister sorry and also thanks for your patience butt please understand it's for protection hope you enjoy❤❤❤❤❤good luck
I was wondering about the reason bikes need to carried on trucks through tunnels but the commenter below me explained. It sounds logical. I really enjoy your videos. Keep up the good work. 👍
Can someone explain me why we need a police escort? Does this is special protection or normal for tourists? Or anything else?
I am your biggest fan in Pakistan. After watching your videos, I am buying a big bike on which I will explore my country Pakistan.
Love from India ❤ you are great 👍
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Do you read all these comments, Nora Lee? This is a rest! 😃
Good video again
I hope you were able to rest it off…..
I really dont understand the fun of driving in such countries…
You are a great inspiration, I've watched all of your videos. Much love from Namibia 🇳🇦
I have visited twice Chitral through lowari top, 3100m before this tunnel was made. A very beautiful, tough road which use to be closed for several months because of snow. In those days Chitral during winter was cut off from rest of the country . Later this tunnel was made.
18:52 to 19:30 that's my
hometown.
The different cultures of the world can sometimes be both overwhelming and beautiful. One needs to be born in a culture to fully appreciate all the nuances, smells, and sounds – otherwise, it could be perceived as utter chaos.
Who says a Honda 125cc can’t be a “ family vehicle”…😂
What a hectic journey being stopped all along the route and asked "where are you going?".
It’s very contraignant all thèse police escort
Exhausting
Sice English is not a commen language and mostly been speak when it need ,that's why most of police questions seems awkward but in reality it's the language barrier cause the strange meaning of an asked question , they try to ask some thing els most of time .
you know noraly is very tired when there's no outro. xD
Your bravery as a rider and as a tourist is unparalleled.
