Our hero. 😍🇱🇻
Possibly the worst and most undeserved winning song in Eurovision history
My mother was so upset Sweden didn´t send Mendez with Adrenaline to ESC 2002 , it would have been battle with Latvia
As a Latvian, I don't really like this song, but it was the show that worked. I remember when we won, we called up our friends and went out to celebrate in the streets of a suburb of Riga.
Say whatever you want, this is a deserving winner. It completely revolutionized the way performances were made. Also she's a hell of a perfomer!
Era un niño y fue de las primeras veces que vi Eurovisión…. ahí su actuación fue mi favorita
❤❤❤
I hope Latvia qualifies 3 years in a row
🎉🎉🎉welcome again 😮
I was 4y. when Latvia won. And i knowed this fact when i started watching Eurovision in 2015 😅
Proud to be Latvian ❤🇱🇻
Це неймовірне шоу! ❤
My favourite Eurovision song everrrr
Merry Christmas, Eurovision! Let God bless you in 2025 in Basel ❤🇨🇭
Omg…sounds a bit like Livin la vida by Ricky Martin 😮
One of the weakest ever winners, but kudos to Marie N for realising before anyone else that it wasn’t enough anymore to just stand static on stage and sing. To get votes from the public, you had to grab people’s attention. And she certainly did.
Talking Flower: Oh Hi Marie N!
Talking Flower Two: WHOA! Marie N Look Gorgeous and Latvian Lady She is!

I know I am a bit weird but this is one of the best winners ever in my opinion. 😂🙈
Eurovision’un en kötü kazanan şarkısı. Hatta öyle ki, bu şarkı diğer senelerde yarışsaydı finale bile kalamazdı çoğunda.
Latvia was lucky at Eurovision 2002 three times before Marie N even took to the stage.
It was the EBU’s intention that only 22 countries would participate in Tallinn, the top 15 countries from the 2001 contest plus the seven countries that had been relegated from the 2001 contest. As Latvia had finished 18th in Copenhagen, it was out of Eurovision 2002. Latvia’s first stroke of luck was the EBU’s later decision to allow 24 countries to go to Tallinn, even if this decision didn’t help Latvia initially.
The decision did help the countries that had finished 16th and 17th in Copenhagen, Israel and Portugal, as it gave them a place for 2002. But…Portugal declined and voluntarily took a year out. This was Latvia’s second piece of luck.
With Portugal out, the final place for 2002 was then offered to the country that finished 18th in Copenhagen. However, two countries had finished 18th in 2001, the Netherlands and Latvia.
To decide which country would receive the place, the rules stated that the tie-break rule should be applied and the country that was awarded the most 12 points, and then 10 points, eight points and so on if necessary to break the tie, at the previous contest would qualify for Tallinn. Neither the Netherlands nor Latvia received any 12 or 10 points in 2001, but Latvia had received eight points twice and the Netherlands hadn’t received any, and so Latvia was on its way to Eurovision 2002.
There would be a different tie-break rule in place in 2003, and had that tie-break rule been in place in 2002, then the Netherlands would have been awarded the place in Tallinn.
My second favourite song after Cyprus entry
one of my fave winners! bring it home Latvia!
The winner of the year I was born 🥰
Much better winner than Estonia and Azerbaijan imo. Even if the song itself is dull, as some people say (personally I love the song), the performance made this winner memorable.
The fact that something like this nowadays wouldn't be able to qualify for the grand final let alone win the whole thing
Way ahead of it's time, which might explain why it won. Shame she simply disappeared after ESC, wonder if she still performs?
goat
Love this song ❤️ love from Portugal
While I am not a big fan of this winner, I am happy it transcended choreography in the Eurovision Song Contest. 🙂
Not my favorite winner in ESC history, but Latvia gave us one of the best editions that I still rewatch from time to time.
Who is from Latvia? 🇱🇻
Aye Yai yai yai yai!
That sounds terrible 😂🤣 😂🤣
It was a great achievement in the middle of Latvian Golden Decade 1994-2004.
Hello from Ukraine! Thanks for support to Great Latvia!
Today you think you think you are the weiner, today you think you are the king.
My favorite winner from all time 👌🏼
It was the only country participating to Eurovision?
