Massive Crowd Pays Tribute to Haniyeh at Doha Mosque

Thousands of people gathered at Imam Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab Mosque in Doha to pay their respects to the former political head of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh. The Jummah (Friday) prayer was performed in his honor, followed by the funeral prayer.

The atmosphere was solemn as people said their final goodbyes to Haniyeh, whose body will be taken to the Lusail royal cemetery north of Doha. Security measures were tight, with state dignitaries from around the world, especially Islamic countries, in attendance. Leaders of Palestinian factions, including Fatah and Islamic Jihad, were also present to pay their respects.

Haniyeh’s family was among the mourners, adding to the emotional and respectful atmosphere of the gathering. The turnout of thousands of people attending the prayer and escorting Haniyeh’s body to its final resting place is a testament to the impact he had on the Palestinian community and beyond.

The funeral proceedings were a reflection of the unity and solidarity felt among those present, as they came together to honor the legacy of a significant figure in Hamas. The event served as a reminder of the importance of remembering and commemorating those who have made a lasting impact on their communities.
