In a recent interview with DW News, Prapti Taposhi, a student and activist at Jahangirnagar University in Bangladesh, discussed the events surrounding the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the student movement that led to it. Taposhi revealed that the students who spearheaded the uprising are demanding that Nobel Peace Prize laureate Muhammad Yunus be appointed as the chief adviser to any new interim government.
According to Taposhi, Yunus has reportedly agreed to take on the role, signaling a potential shift in leadership in Bangladesh. The demand for Yunus to be installed as chief adviser comes after a day of chaos and disorder in which at least 109 people were killed and crowds stormed the Prime Minister’s official residence, engaging in widespread looting.
The student movement in Bangladesh is adamant that they will not accept military rule and are pushing for a peaceful transition of power with Yunus at the helm. Taposhi’s insights shed light on the historical significance of the events unfolding in Bangladesh and the determination of the student activists to bring about change.
As the situation in Bangladesh continues to evolve, it is clear that the voices of the youth are playing a crucial role in shaping the country’s political landscape. Taposhi’s interview serves as a powerful reminder of the power of grassroots movements in effecting meaningful change.

well said sister
I'm 28 years old…. But i never vote in my life 😢
She was never the prime minister. It was said so out of fear! Please refrain from saying that!
If she doesn't flee yesterday she would have face the fate like that of Gadafi and other arab leaders. I agree that she should be held accountable for the death of innocent lives but she should be put on trial in the court of law and not at kangaroo court or just random punishment. # She is guilty for the death of innocent but we should also remember that she has also done some great things for the country. She has implemented many economic reforms thereby putting Bangladesh ahead of many other countries….during the last decades the economic growth of Bangladesh is even more than india. At present Bangladesh is far ahead of Pakistan in every sphere of lives…
#@ If she's a true leader she will definitely come back to face the Court of law ,once things get settled down .
Look at that smile on Taposhi apu's face❤.
Mafiha hasina step down
It's gonna be hard to feel good about the ousting of the government with all the vandalism that has been going around by ne'er do well'ers
What kind of protest is this why tf they are destroying isckon temple in Bangladesh seems like their motive is totally different
Sheikh Hasina killed several army leaders back in 2009 who could pose a threat to her in the future! Army Majors, Captains, and Colonels who could do something! They were all brutally murdered that day! The fact that the Army is not doing enough or can't do enough for the protection of the people says it all! Sheikh Hasina has broken the very backbone of the Bangladesh Army!
Well explained our feelings ❤❤great job Taposhi❤
minority was not harmed. most of them are rumors . Students guard the temples from yesterday.
Thank you so mach ❤❤
