Times really have changed. Mr Kingsley is 56, looks at least 10 yrs. older and acts even older than that. I have many friends in their 50's that look and act way younger than their age. And at 70, I can still run and bike faster than most 30 yr. olds. Yup, times really have changed and for some of us, that's a good thing.
Too good!!🌺
Kim Novak, my favorite actress in old cinema, beautiful and talented. Good, emotional acting by Fredric March. Thank you for adding this movie here.
58:32 Age 56? He looks 76.
nice water marks 👎
I'm sorry but Kim N. seems like she's reading script. She's not natural.
This is such a good film for it's time, really any time. Kim Novak is kind of a mess, anything but a Marilyn type sexpot. but she plays her part admirably, as does Frederick March. He was supurb in Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde 1931. Mrs. Neiman is hilarious, Jewish and enunciates in a peculiar fashion. I can't believe she was only about 31 then. She looks 50 and then some. As she says she had a 28 year old son, she's playing a woman of 50. Speaking of Marilyn Monroe, that girl playing the daughter is Joan Copeland, Marilyn's sister in law at the time, Arthur Miller's sister.
Lee Phillips as George–before he was reduced to ashes by an eternally existing Egyptian sorceress tootsie! 😆
The men look k. Their 70s, not 50s.
when films told stories, actors acted.and film crews delivered
I LOVE FREDERIC MARCH. AND KIM NOVAK IS WONDERFUL, AUTHENTIC, TENDER. In today’s world, this age is more common. This is a beautiful and tragic story. Kim character what’s love and safety. He wants his youth and her beauty, inside and out. She does’t LOVE him in the way he loves her. And Lee GRANT’S cameo! March was a wonderful wonderful actor. And Paddy’s writing is supreme. Sincere, honest, tragic….loving.
16:20 in and I'm so impressed with how progressive and in-touch-with himself the lead character is. He is up front on how he feels and asks direct questions: "Are you angry with me Grace because you seem so unfriendly.". And how he rejects the other old guy's shirt chasing. I have no idea where this movie is going at this point but I'm very curious!
Fantastic . Thankyou
Thanks for making this wonderful film available to all of us! Fredric March – consistently good in whatever film he stars in – turns in perhaps his best performance here, as does Kim Novak. Paddy Chayefsky’s script is brilliant.
A beautiful little gem of a movie, I loved it!!
hello😊😊😊😊 , i really enjoyed this movie , it is brilliant but all of the tormented stress , was alot . great share , thank you , for sharing🥰🥰🥰🥰……………..
This is a classic.
"I'm too old to eat candy." Well how about TOOOO much candy?… Them 4-letter words is a lot of energy…love, lust, hope, you get the point… There was so many variables involved with their relationship— his family, friends, and co-workers…. Her family, friends, an ex-husband…But it comes down to a man and a woman and God—- blending their lives together…. manipulation don't be manipulated what do they agree upon….
It's just that simple….
So glad they got together at the end. A thrill to see this again after many years. I already commented about Betty Walker’s strange and oddly touching widow…How about Martin Balsam’s frustrated husband who finally lets it all out. Electrifying! Lee Grant, marvelous. Ditto March’s sister. Great cast.
I hate George.
One of the best movies ever made about the Fall/Spring relationships. Loved the acting, dialogue, directing and the story depth. The end is controversial though.
Utterly superb!
Brilliant and beautiful film! I love Fredric March so much
I ve seen a recent interview of Kim Novak, she is still so youthful in mind. Frederic March, great very underrated actor 🌹🌼💮
WHOA!!! Kim Novak excels, once again.
Thank you!
Betty was too weak.. very annoying character..
great actors with such depth and feeling god bless them
Very enjoyable and performances are credible and script delivers! Appreciated the monochrome and decent displayed screen resolution!😊
Brilliant casting. Frederick March squared off with Kim Novak, with a stellar supporting role by Martin Balsum..
Kim Novak doesn't strike me as being a great actress.. like McClain or anyone of that era.. movie isn't bad tho…
Good movie thanks
Talented people somehow discovered each other in this film. An Oscar was due for this. The script is long paragraff add emotions too. All the cast had to put thier best performance and wow! Impressed by the mad mother (Kim's) overly concerned sister ( Fredric's) and this damn thing called love ! Kudos to the Writer! ✍️👌😄
Great acting, great script, great movie. Thank you!
Me, 10 years old, hot summer day, 1967, our living room, enthralled in this movie. My dad yells to turn that thing off and go play outside with the other kids!
This one makes me feel icky the whole way through. 😁
SPOILER***
He was never going to be able to fix all of that girl's problems. Marriage would've been an emotional roller coaster that aged him faster. Clinging to someone out of need is a bad idea. The age difference between these two characters was too extreme; it might work for different people. Yikes. 😁 Feel like I need a shower.
Half hour. That’s not nearly enough 😎😎😎😎
Goerge wants More than a beer😮😮😮😅😅😅
Betty can’t get any privacy 😮😮😮
jealous man or woman will kill any relationship 😢😢😢
This is a horrible depressing dark movie
At least Jerry isn’t married. Most situations in movies. They’re married ❤❤❤
Laugh together. Stay together 😂😂😂
Kim Novak. Stunning ❤❤❤
The lazy a$$ delivery driver dragging the package all the way across the street gets me irked every time, I made it to 1:14 too much fighting and negativity. not a pleasant movie.
This woman won’t Shut up 😢😢😢
❤🙏🌲🎉
March, at least 59
nice, i love happy outcomes
She was kind of crazy😂😂😂poor old man.
