Milo Manheim is looking to return to the stage.
The star of the Disney Channel‘s “Zombies” films recently played Seymour in a “Little Shop of Horrors” off-Broadway revival and was also in a Los Angeles production of “American Idiot” last year.
“I absolutely hope to do more theater. The plan is, the goal if you will, is to go back and forth between film and theater for the rest of my life. I love them both so much,” Manheim told Variety at the L.A. premiere of “Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires.”
And if an opportunity to be on Broadway came along, he would take it. “Just Broadway in general is calling my name. I can hear it all the way here in L.A. But I’m sure I’ll be back on that New York stage at some point,” he added.
But Manheim is not planning to step away from the “Zombies” films anytime soon if the franchise continues. He and co-star Meg Donnelly have led the films from the start as Zed and Addison. The first installment, “Zombies,” was released in 2018. With the fourth film, they also became executive producers.
“I absolutely will be involved with ‘Zombies’ for as long as it exists, absolutely behind the camera,” Manheim said. “And then we’ll see what the ‘Zombies’ universe calls for. If it needs more Zed and Addison, I’m sure we’ll be back. And if not, then I think we had a pretty good goodbye this movie. We’ll have to see.”
