Great movie , glad I watched it !
I have a feeling a lot of 44-year-old fellas could kick some ass … if they saw it as their duty to their nation.
Poor old Mr. Winkle. I'm glad everything worked out for him !
It's a tribute to Robinson's skill that he could go from being a homicidal psychotic gangster to a Mr. Milquetoast with perfect ease. I never miss an opportunity to watch this consummate professional at work. He worked right up within a few weeks of his death, his last film being the iconic Soylent Green role.
I used to have to scour the UHF Teevee stations for his old films; now we can get them here! Wonderful!
This movie is hapiness…
Edward G. Robinson – a phenomenal actor who brings a great deal of depth to his character – whether he is playing a Mobster in Key Largo or a quiet hero in "Mr. Winkle Goes to War>"

What a gifted actor Edward G. Robinson was ❤
I have watched Edward G as a mobster, a District Attorney, and a Detective. This is the first time I have seen him in a role of what seems to be a wimp.
He played the roll perfectly and in a manner that he got what he wanted.
