The 61st Munich Security Conference, taking place from February 14-16, 2025, has become the focal point for key international diplomatic discussions. Day 3 of the conference promises to be another day of high-level debates on pressing foreign and security policy challenges.
The schedule for Day 3 includes sessions on various important topics such as European security architecture, accelerating the Balkans’ EU accession, reviving European competitiveness, and finding new solutions in a polarized century. The day will conclude with the Conference Closing at 12:00 GMT.
One of the highlights of the conference is the presence of US Vice President JD Vance, who is attending as part of his first foreign trip in office. He will be joined by US Foreign Secretary Marco Rubio and is expected to hold meetings with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to discuss peace talks between Kyiv and Moscow.
In addition to US officials, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier will open the conference, with other notable attendees including European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, as well as G7 foreign ministers.
President Donald Trump announced that US officials will also engage in discussions with Russian counterparts at the conference, although details of these meetings have not yet been disclosed.
