Confidently stuttering in a fluent world is a thought-provoking TEDx talk by Vikesh Anand that challenges society’s perceptions of stuttering. Anand, who has struggled with stuttering since childhood, shares his personal journey of overcoming the stigma associated with it to find his own sense of confidence and self-worth.
In the talk, Anand discusses how society often views stuttering as a flaw or weakness, leading to feelings of shame and inadequacy among those who stutter. He emphasizes the importance of embracing one’s stutter and finding the courage to speak up, rather than hiding or avoiding communication altogether.
Anand also highlights the need for greater awareness and acceptance of stuttering in our society, calling for more inclusive and supportive attitudes towards people who stutter. He challenges the notion that fluency is the only measure of effective communication, arguing that stuttering can be a powerful form of self-expression and authenticity.
Overall, Confidently stuttering in a fluent world is an inspiring and empowering talk that encourages individuals to embrace their differences and find their voice, regardless of societal expectations.
