In a fascinating new book titled ‘Her Secret Service: The Forgotten Women of British Intelligence’, author Dr. Claire Hubbard-Hall reveals the true inspiration behind the iconic character of Miss Moneypenny from the James Bond novels and films. Contrary to popular belief, Miss Moneypenny was not a fictional creation but based on a real woman who played a pivotal role in British intelligence.
Dr. Hubbard-Hall discusses why women actually make better spies and sheds light on the incredible stories of these forgotten female intelligence agents. As femicide remains a pressing issue worldwide, the book also features a poignant account of a French woman who narrowly escaped being killed by her ex-boyfriend, highlighting the stark reality of intimate partner violence.
In addition to these gripping narratives, the book also explores how a comic strip is challenging taboos surrounding menstruation for schoolchildren in the Democratic Republic of Congo. By addressing sensitive topics such as menstruation in an engaging and educational way, the comic strip is helping to empower young girls and break down stigma surrounding this natural aspect of life.
The real ‘Miss Moneypenny’ is just one of the many remarkable stories uncovered in ‘Her Secret Service’, shedding light on the often overlooked contributions of women in intelligence and espionage. Dr. Claire Hubbard-Hall’s book is a testament to the resilience, bravery, and ingenuity of these unsung heroines, whose stories deserve to be told and remembered.

are these the same ones who picked on meghan
and bullied her when she was in royal family
are these same people who bullied my friend last week
genius to abuse their moral high ground positions
to enrich themselves, their pockets and own self interest
while many others suffer (who isnt those privileged few)
see the bad women whom learn manipulative practices
keeps the other good women out, then it solves nothing
and this is what happens far too often i have seen it
they hold onto power, cannot let it go, its nothing of gender
so you do want to promote the ones whom isnt after it
if you promote women who are career ambitious your dead
the qualities of the person itself good or bad it matters
not those who pretends to be good, often hard to distinguish
certainly in this year 2024 its the bad ones all at the top in uk
have witnessed it myself many times over now, same ones
they are connected with being around royal family etc
they are poorly educated with massive superiority complexes
they award themselves 6 figure salaries, lie and make up stuff
the mistakes they made were quite massive and unforgivable
no way in hell they should have any input whatsoever in whos next
perhaps not all needs to go, but certainly at the very top of it all
