New Crew Launches to ISS from Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan: Live Coverage

A new crew has successfully launched to the International Space Station from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. The Soyuz MS-26 spacecraft, carrying NASA astronaut Don Pettit and Roscosmos cosmonauts Alexey Ovchinin and Ivan Vagner, blasted off on schedule, heading towards the orbiting laboratory.

The crew members will spend several months aboard the ISS, conducting various scientific experiments and maintenance tasks. This mission marks Pettit’s fourth spaceflight, while Ovchinin and Vagner are embarking on their second trip to the space station.

The launch went smoothly, with the Soyuz spacecraft reaching orbit and successfully docking with the ISS a few hours after liftoff. The crew will join the current residents of the space station, continuing the important work of international collaboration in space exploration.

The successful launch and arrival of the new crew demonstrate the continued cooperation between NASA and Roscosmos in maintaining a human presence in space. The crew will work together to advance scientific research and technology development in the unique environment of the ISS.

As the crew settles into their new home in space, we look forward to seeing the results of their experiments and the impact of their work on our understanding of the universe. Congratulations to the crew of Soyuz MS-26 on a successful launch and safe journey to the International Space Station.
