AI slop
It would be pretty cool if they used it in the construction of Starship.
sooo then you can make a basic bare bones two seater EV for $10,000 ish. If you remember,( the what I like to call the mythical Elio designed by David Elio).I love concept.3 wheels one door for around $8,000. he had an excellent concept, through mismanaged and the lack of resources he could not get the manufacturing going.I would like to see Elon musk build a similar platform.and put his spin on it. I think Tesla would be able to make that $5,000 goal a reality he claimed years ago. this concept would give almost every American the dream of owning a vehicle a reality. Can you imagine ruffly 98% of Americans owning their own cycle/car being able to have opportunities they would never have, now they have transportation. The doors that would open up for so many people.Elon Musk give it serious thought, make dreams come true!!!!
you forgot to mention that car built this way is unrepairable after accident. maybe smaller body damage yes. but bigger crash will send this car to junkyard. so we have ideal car – single use! what a benefit to musk…
Humans should stay focused on improving human lives with technology and amazing thinking instead
And yet no battery swap sealed in battery shame.
Which mean the production is not carbon neutral.
Musk is a fraud. He takes credit for things actual engineers create. He didn't create any of the innovations in any of the companies he runs with Paypal and stolen taxpayer money.
Short English version:
The video is mostly hype from a speculative Tesla YouTube channel.
What's real:
Tesla is using large gigacastings + the "Unboxed" manufacturing process for the Cybercab. This significantly reduces the number of parts, welds, robots, and factory complexity. It's a genuine and impressive step forward.
What's exaggerated:
No official "Giga Press 4.0" exists.
No 50,000-ton Giga Press has been announced (current ones are ~6,000–9,000+ tons).
"Deleted all welding robots" is clickbait — the reduction is big, but not total.
Typical Tesla hype content: mixes real progress with speculation for dramatic titles.
Tesla has one car worth looking at. The rest look like blow mold plastic. No angles, no lines, just just dystopian, modern, homogeneous, blah. What happened to design and beauty when creating a car. Plus the price tag for a battery and some wheels is outrageous. I’ll keep my old Hondas running until car prices come down and a little thought goes back into the design process.
Throw away cars.
Hope they come with throw away prices.
Does this work on 3/4 ton full size pickups?
Imagine, what will come out of the gigapres is "a boxy body", just stick the wheels on, like a 40s cartoon 🤣
It doesn't matter. Tesla management will not share cost reduction with consumers, and they would rather go pursue a new weird project instead of affordability.
El problema con la pintura es que si no la tienes el vehículo se deteriora más rápido, no es solo por el color, es la capa de protección.
What happens after the AI inspector discovered flaws after the gigapress output?
Fucked up utopia… Mass produced basic junks for the masses made by robots to make him more wealthy.
Forget ever being able to fix a Tesla and the insurance rates are going to go through the roof – this is cost savings in production being passed onto the consumer for either outrageous repair costs or total vehicle replacement which will have insurance skyrocketing. Idiots. Welding does not produce stress points – welding allows for individual stampings that can be replaced if damaged in an accident. Gigacasting has to have the entire casting replaced or the vehicle will be declared as totalled.
成本降低但是维修价格会继续高升。 汽车企业已经开始转型了
what happens in a crash? do you have to replace thow whole car, not just sections?
The problem of cars made with giga presses is that any part produced that way cannot be welded or bent. That means that in any accident a damaged part coming out of a gigapress even with minor issues, must be replaced. And since those parts are also big, means that most of the time the car is a total loss. That is why insurance in Teslas is considerably higher. Not because of the batteries but because of the may the frame is made.
It isn't anything more than the ability to eliminate human jobs. It is all about profit. Cars will still cost the same or more. The root of all evil is the LOVE of money. That describes Elon to a T.
ai slop
Making a single piece die cast "matchbox" car sounds interesting until you get into an accident and need to replace the entire car instead of a quarter panel.
People still don't like this man because he thinks for himself. Thanks for being you Mr. Musk.
Now–if you could build a battery that lasts the lifetime of those aluminum frames…….
Hate the crap AI voice over
The worlds richest man is not Musk, but Putin 🎉
There was once not too long ago the concept of building the car with a 3d printer. Tesla incorporates a ton of super cool technology that is years ahead of everyone. But overall quality still remains an issue that Tesla has. They still struggle with body parts fit and other refined aspects of vehicle production. Their sensors are head and shoulders above the competition. The dash function is cool too. It will be interesting to follow Tesla to see what strides are being made and improvements too. Until EV gets away from the very dangerous lithium Ion batteries to something that is far safer and charges far faster, I'm still in the wait and see mode for EVs. The EV motors are there, it's just the batteries and charging systems are not.
Colored panels eh? Well, I hope it is far better thought out than the stainless steel panels of the cyber truck. Yes, supposedly doesn't rust. But rust isn't the only problem. Those panels show rain spots horribly after a rain storm and can get baked in if not cleaned fairly soon afterwards. I know there are some aspects of aluminum skins with color, but very limited colors to be available. Consumers want the variety. What if you go less expensive and find a quality vinyl wrap to put on them? Would make for re-coloring a vehicle much less expensive too.
ev s dot work and hes is silling junk you bay and can,t fix all bs a scamer
What a moron, bashing a keyboard just for a stupid unreal noise.
Thumb down.
gigapress for semi's i can see that coming
I remember right the italians had one requirement that it remain red, strange right.
Skynet is gonna love this.
Thats a huge toggle lock!
I can see the huge advantage for manufacturing, but may make the insurance costs high, due to complexity of repair, of course I don't know so could be wrong.
for years many small motorcycles were pressed, no welding except spot welds here and there.
You are exaggerating the numbers here. '200 to 80 parts' is just marketing wordplay with tiny brackets; the actual Giga Cast produces only 2-3 major pieces per car. And claiming it can press 5 cars at once is physically impossible due to mold size and cooling limits. Do some real research next time.
The pros don't beat the cons of it'll be beyond repairable due to cost.
remember the UFO`s that are in custody are said to be smooth metal with no welds, rivits, nut/bolts, didnt someone say Musk is from another planet!
An excellent system for ripping people off. Reduced costs for manufacturers and a nightmare for those who buy it and are involved in an accident. Metallurgy is not a fairy tale, and reliably repairing a car built that way comes with an unsustainable cost.
I really don't like cast parts unless it's an engine block. Making a cast piece that hold most of the car together really sucks if it ever breaks. Your car is basically totaled. I've already seen it happen to Porsche and the C8 Corvette.
why use aluminium there so many other materials that will work and way cheaper?
Trump put a 50% tax on aluminum
Cycle time is 2 minutes,so that will be the production rate
The industrial mechanics, electricians, programmers and trouble shooters will get the highest pay in the world.
Traditional auto producers had better order coffins ASAP.
Elon told us, that the Optimus Robots of his would soon take over the manufacturing. What happen?
Garbage
Building disposable cars.
Affordable? Serviceable? Reliable? Those are the much needed characteristics in an automobile. Everything else is secondary.
