Beautiful there on Lesvos. Your really close to Troy just across the way there in Turkiye
04:10 Λέσβος was originally pronounced "Lesbos" in Ancient Greek, which is what the English pronunciation is based on. Over the centuries the pronunciation of the letter beta (β) changed from /b/ to /v/, hence the modern pronunciation "Lesvos".
Thanks for pronouncing "Mytilene" correctly in this video. 🙂
My grandparents are from Lesvos and it's been amazing to see Gabriel here!
Disapointed with the content i expected to encounter some lesbians
Another clasic Gabe
I hope that when people visit these historic sites, they’re actually just looking at the site as in “the physical approximate location”, not the structure itself. The original structure turned into dust many centuries ago and got swept out to sea. There are actually people who still think they are looking at an original relic.
Let me say I'm getting bored watching Gabe but I'm use to his style I watch many other folks on Youtube
In 2012, my wife and I, who were staying at a hotel in Kos, hired a bicycle for each of us, and we rode to the Thermals, a hot spring issuing from the base of a cliff and partially enclosed as a hot pool before flowing out to the sea. The spa is open-air, and we sunbathed on the surrounding beach between dips and swimming in the ocean next to the pool. An unforgettable experience.
PS. In 2012, there were no changing facilities. We arrived already in our swim gear and were allowed to dry out before returning to our hotel. The facility was free.
13:23 Not 1797 it's 1296
Less tourists than the southern islands?
😊❤🇧🇦⛰🏔🗻
Im so happy you traveled on the island of my father.Last time i was there, it was back in 1996😢.
There are soooo many things to see on this beautiful island, and you didn't see not even the 5% of them.I know that you have a schedule to catch, and you dont have a lot of time to see them all, still…im happy.
Good afternoon from the sunshine state of Florida.
Hi Gabriel great follower of yours sir….. but would to know the name of the song at the end of this video please…… keep up the great work dude 😊❤
Gabriel, I support your freedom to identify as a proud Lesbian.
Gabriel, I have a feeling that the Aegean Archipelago recognizes you in all its parts…almost! 🙂
Lesvos deserves more time. Eressos relaxed vibes are not ti be missed… enjoy
Gabe, visit Eressos the birthplace of Sappho. International Eressos Womens Festival happens in Skala Eressos September 10-24th.
Michael Dukakis also has family ties to Lesvos. His first cousin's family owns and runs the Dukakis supermarket at the entrance to Skala Eressos.
👍👍👍
Looks like the rest of Greece to me , along with a lot of the Mediterranean
Very interesting , the castle was controlled by the Catalans, the same people founded in Cuba at the time a possession of the United States Of America the Catalan Independence Party , and is the reason their flag is a version of the Cuban and Puerto Rican flag, because they are the same Iberoamerican ethnic group, small world . saludos to The Iberoamerican Catalans
I like the lesbians saludos
13:25 Actually the number is 1296 which corresponds to year AD 1878-1879.
Very cool island… thank you for sharing! 💙🤍💙
There is a new road from Kalloni to Petrified Forest and Sigri that opened to traffic this summer. It is easier and quicker than the old road, which most guides still include, but it avoids the villages in the way. Sigri has a museum about paleontology of Lesvos.
There are also organized hot springs, Eftalou is free access as you just saw, try Therma baths at the small bay of Gera (not to be confused with Thermi) and they say Polichnitos hot springs are open again. The island contains a lot of hot springs locations.
Why such a title and not "Greek island of Lesvos"?
Where do you find that intro music. Beautiful❤️
Western and Eastern Lesvos are like two different Islands… I think you would love the surreal volcanic landscapes of western lesvos, maybe another time!
2:35 I don't think the Catalans had to do anything with the isle of Lesvos, not even the Kingdom of Aragon
So what is the name of the intro music, please..
No Greek Salad today ?
Hello Gabriel, the year on the water fountain with the arabic ottoman writing is 1296
Your videos of Greece are the best! Watching them takes me back in time to when I went Greek island hopping many years ago. Beautiful sunset and views of the Mediterranean! Simply stunning!
Gabe you need to visit the petrified forest of Lesvos (2nd largest in the world behind one in Arizona)
There was a great and long history before Christianity, there was a long and great history of the Christianity, maybe we will see what will happen in the post Christianity. Finally you found the Genoeese.
Ouzo it is an apperitif yes but actually is something more than this for many Greeks is a way of life and if i may say how do i drink it as a cocktail mixed with grandberry juice and ice, cheers!
GAAABRIEEEEEL! You really are courageous. Hopefully nobody will commit suicide.
